hi , many people talk about many pullers as ''smart pullers'' .. most of the time it will be a compliment ...and rarely it is a criticism ....
so let us share our thoughts on who is the smartest puller in your opinion....and why you say so?
i will say Arsen ...because he is very smart in training and techniques ... and choosing weight classes....and selecting tournaments and matches ....and his results are astonishing .... he is not hugely built as denis or some others..
he is having a great future in aw...
let us share our thoughts...

In my experience I will say Craig Tullier or Mike S.
It's been said that gripping with Mike S is like armwrestling a lawyer.
Anyone who can get in the opponents head before the match ever starts is a very smart puller.
Especially if it doesn't require alot if talk.

To me a smart puller is someone who truly understands armwrestling, both on the table during a match and also in proper training. There are many armwrestlers who are very successful for many reasons, but they are good at what they do- not necessarily the most thoughtful in their approach.
I think some of the most insightful armwrestlers are:
Engin John Brzenk Devon Travis Cobra Mike Selearis
Of course there are many smart armwrestlers. But those guys understand this sport on a level that I believe most of us do not.

World wide Engin Terzi. But Corey Miller is a super intelligent puller.

What is this smart nonsense? I thought armwrestling was for dumb brutes. What about Sharon Remez, I heard he was pretty technically ahead of the field 20 years ago. Engin would answer this question best I'm sure of that!

John Brzenk and Tzvetan Gashevski are the smartest armwrestlers i have known.thinking and being able to do what you are thinking succesfully are different things.these two have found alternative ways to beat their toughest opponents in most of the hopeless looking moments.i admire their armwrestling abilities at most difficult times.Cobra Rhodes and Dave Patton are the other two most intelligent pullers.
the one who controls the things at the table is the smart puller.because thinking at outside of the competetion and thinking during the competetion are different things.of course that the intelligence outside of the table is also very important but being able to make right desicions during the competetion is what makes the early preparation effective.JMO

I've never had the pleasure of meeting Dave Patton. But he certainly has the most awesome armwrestling table ever made by frank hirst!! Attachments:

What about Sharon Remez, I heard he was pretty technically ahead of the field 20 years ago. Engin would answer this question best I'm sure of that! Sharon's style was great but he was not alone for sure.Brzenk,Cobra,Patton, Givens,Taglione,Accardi, Walker and many others were the guys that World learned how to armwrestle from.World learned how to armwrestle from the N.Americans.
