Mike- you are right, alot of people dont know who Mike Ohara is. I used to train with Mike. He is a great dude! He is one who I miss seeing in this sport very much. Mike Ohara had such a passion for armwrestling. Mike was a beast, especially left handed....I remember

It all depends upon where I was at the time in my career.
Joey Costello, a great 132 National Champ from Canada, we pulled in Canada several tough matches and they treated me so well up there I think my love for this sport was solidified then and there.
Beating Mike Shaloub at the Arnold when I was transitioning from a 132 to a 154 was big for me because it proved to me I could pull against top guys at that higher weight.
Finally beating Devin Bair and Vern Martel because to this day they still hold the best records against me. Devin really helped me become a real armwrestler not just a strong guy, he is easily the smartest puller I know.
Vagzen
Rick Soliwada
Mike McGraw as he owned me for a long time
Beating Em Williams twice in the finals at the USAF Nationals to win the 176 National Championship was big, again it was about being smart on the table not just strong,(thank you Devin).
Cobra to be able to fend off such an incredible top roller was big for me.
Chris Chandler twice in a hook, I was about 184 and opted to pull 198 rather than diet down, go back up and diet again for the Arnold... Chris pulled 176 and 198, I won the 198 class in Reno that year ahead of Chris, but got injured and never did go to the Arnold.
Ron Klemba in this years Nationals, I was coming back from surgery and to be able to pull with a top notch top roller with a ton of heart, was big.. I was not sure how that was going to go to be honest.
Matt Harris I have been told 100 times and at least 7 times that day in NC how good Matt was in the strap and how strong he was inside, so again being on the comeback trail and being able to beat him in the strap was big for me.

many moons ago when I first got started I had the pleasure of beating Tony Villa (wristwrestling) and Mike Ohara (armwrestling). the younger guys probably dont know these guys. I would say most recently beating Luke Stanley and Bill Logsden at a don underwood toproll event was fun too left handed. I got the pleasure of pulling Kevin Bongard at the unifieds this year but it didnt come out too well for me!! still great experience though. I've not meet Tony Villa but I see that left handed he is a 10 time wristwrestling world champion (from Jerry's wristwrestling) in the 176-200 lbs. weight class so that's a good win! btw have you ever won one of Jerry's world's?

Yeah Josh many years back I beat Tony Villa at one of Jerrys Worlds at take first place in the left handed light class. Put tony on a peg table though and he is a monster. He has practiced at my place earlier this year and his wrist strength is nasty strong! hope he wins the masters in canada this year. great guy. I figure I have another chance at beating him when he hits around 65 years old!!

Simon youve went from a 132lber to 198lber over the years?? I used to diet from 150 to 132 I had a lot of help in making that weight due to my destroyed left arm, I broke it and crushed the radial nerve paralyzing it for 1.5 years. As it recovered I moved up to 154 for a couple of years then I was 168 dieting down and decided no more I was going to 176, I am a 176 puller about 184 as I type, though I have pulled many 198 heavy and super heavy classes in my time.
