He is still very good despite that. I have seen him beat Fleming, Rackers, and Ryan Clark. Not that he could beat them today but that is still a good resume.

Maybe he has been slacking but you don't lose aw strength that quickly, and yes I do think he is a contender at the toproll tournament and could for sure win the 220's depending on who goes, by saying he is good I mean he can win tournaments/place at nationals in the open, I'm not comparing him to guys like Nick Zinna and Rob Vigeant or anything. And you're right if he trains like that and is still that good then yeah if he ever decided to be serious he'll be scary. Heck he was ranked 10th in the U.S. at 242 at one point not too long ago (a few months ago) and he was only "floating" around at 215-225, anyone in the top 10 is usually one of the best guys at most tournaments...
and I am just guessing, but I doubt Rob or Frank would say that Tommy is not good at armwrestling.

He went 3-2 against Ryan only a couple moths ago, and 3 months ago he beat Flemming, He pulled Rackers a year ago, I would say Felmming woudl beat both Clark and Rackers, and Clark and Rackers I would say are pretty close, could be either way.. I dont think he has lost that much strength (he does body work and wrenching on cars for a living) So he is constantly working his hands. Then again he may have just forgotten how to pull, lost some technique etc.. Only time will tell.. Enough of that , WERE GOING TO GET TO WATCH ARM WRESTLING AT HOOTERS!! It doesnt get any better than that ..

I've only gotten the chance to meet Tom once at small tournament in Nebraska last year. He has an unbelievable amount of natural talent. I mean he could put me wherever he wanted to on the table.
His head was in the game for a while, but it seems like every since he is ineligible for the teen class at unifieds and worlds, he doesn't take it seriously anymore. He was dominate in the super heavy weight teen class. No one even stood a remote chance in the USA.
I'd love to see him train hard and get out to some more events even if they are only regional to his area. Trappar S. seems to have the right attitude even though I haven't actually met the guy yet, but utlimately it's up to Tom. He has the potential to compete on the national stage every year in the open class IF he trained. No one regardless of natural talent can compete on THAT level without serious TRAINING. However, only a select few have the natural ability to be able to reach THAT level and Tom certainly has it.
Tom's overall attitude towards armwrestling reminds me of 3 other people whom I know personally (+ or - a few years to Tom's age who I will not name) who are very similar. They show up at a few events a year and win their open classes (or take second) farily easily. However, in order to set their sights higher to levels on competition they would have to TRAIN harder and change somewhat to a healthier lifestyle as well as travel to those bigger events were there is more likely to be competition for them.
Some people just don't want to go that far. It's up for them to decide how much (or little) they want armwrestling to be part of their life. A few days a year is enough for some people.

I won't be able to make it.
I had planned on stopping by on the way home from vacation...but my girlfriend broke her arm at a tournament on July 4th...surgery, 8 inch plate, 16 screws, the whole works. So...vacation plans have changed a little bit.
Good luck to everyone! Should be a great event!
