hes not the only one Engin. They are accustomed to taking steroids in these countries , they don't need a RX , and its not illegal to take or buy.
They saw there parents and sports hero's do it so why stop now ? Only the WaF throws obstacles there way otherwise it might be worse.
What I mean by parents and hero is , the whole world wondered how they could be so strong in the Olympics lifting and other sports. They took 90% of the golds it seemed. They later said its Periodization scaling of weights to their workouts. Than we all found out that the 60's and 70's they had steroids that nobody else had or thought to use. Than later it was discovered with many top flight natural athletes that tried to apply these Russian periodization principles to there workouts.
Guess what they didnt work , they couldnt go up as fast in weights as these outlines described them too, and or couldnt recover quick enough to keep up with. so the conclusion was unanimous when all the other facts on steroid use came out.
Yeah i believe totally clean they have a big edge under 187 lbs , they are better for a lot of reasons. Here are a few. They played harder and different than NA people as kids. they have chin and ropes in some apartment complexes. They are naturally thinner or lighter weight as a culture than we are ( smaller legs etc )
They have many more to choose from for arm wrestling lighter classes than we do. i believe If they have 2000 pooled down to the 20 best is one reason , where we might have 400 pooled down to 10 best. There are extreme sports here to draw attention away from arm wrestling.
They may have better natural tendons thicker hands than we do , especially Georgians or Oste <<
So IMO this is why they are better in lighter classes.
Bob Brown who is very astute in his thoughts, said something interesting to me the other day, that John Brzenk is closer to the norm than the exception. What
? But you know what this is true perhaps.
There could be a 100 people out there capable of being that good or close or better. They dont armwrestle , they play other sports or work somewhere, a gymnast perhaps.. Take any major city and count the % of armwrestlers in there or the whole NA for that matter.
Here's another one i believe that IF there were more african americans involved there would be some great pullers. I now some of the purist AA, dont like to hear about tendons and fast twitch muscles they seem to possess but I believe they do..
International pressure for greatness has caused some of it... And Its the snowball effect, which is Go to a tournament get beat by someone badly you just beat 3 months ago ( yeah lets chalk it up to pulling the pulley and training hard ) and than you get beat and it obvious to look at the person in most cases. So there is status and ego , and than they come prepared 3 months later and bang back on top again yeah!!! Now what cant go to a tournament , i dont know if chemistry 101 is going to be on, so a good portion come prepared each time.
To some who see these people 2-3 x a year in some cases or on video it may not be as obvious , but to practice partners and local tournament attendees it can be obvious.
Like i said before i would trust a few people i know if i ever pulled a super match again because i was robbed once and very surprised by the outcome as i thought of this person as No threat at the time . I also have proof 100% of the cheating too , and it still bugs me.
My list is short to trust up here ROb V is way too good for me and a few like Rob Sasso Jim Bryan, Kurt Howgate, Badger who are consistent only through the effort of training. Not in and out of 40% swings in strength of eyebrow raising performances. Most of the rest id like to put up $ and test before we pull, Thats how i feel about that, because a portion of the rest of the top here and everywhere are cheaters.
This has been going on for 1000's of years in sports. 50% of the top athletes will try and cheat or at times. Its just a fact!!!
Buster Onley ESPN did a 3 year study to back this up. Look at the top 10 Home run leaders of the last 20 years. What 7-8 are linked to steroids ITS a fact !!!!!!!
Engin said it and he knows but also says it with grace and dignity and not in a specific accusing way : there is no single top armwrestler that is thought by the whole world, to be always clean
Put these post out there and hope to change an athletes mind, but im sure 90% of them wont change. Maybe dissapear eventually or fade but wont change. Next stop NAA
If there were dope test for nationals ( lets not forget some dont go to worlds just nationals ) supermatch formats , Arnolds, Harley and other $ tournaments, the results would be different especially the heavier classes IMO.
ROTN perhaps too, But I like what Gary is doing and paying deep, this reason above is also what scares many away because the gap is just too large for them to travel and compete, or is it really?
I was going to say Gary take some of that $$$ and do some testing .. But than again your trying to build attendance not scare some away LOL... Or how about just do it All I know is Id love to out of no where do that and watch the panic
Leonard and John Parton said: the worst thing about this issue. It doesn't just change the top finishers, it changes the whole dynamic of each weight class in which it happens. Like i said i personaly know people IMO that wouldnt place to finishing maybe as high as 3rd that have done much better than they should. They get there pat's on the back wow you pulled great you are awesome , you are wow oooh!! than avoid the mirror when they get home and start all over
