What how come they changed the weight classes! I liked the 165 lbs. class I was really looking forward to kicking some ass! Well I'll be there anyways most likely in the 176 lbs. class then novice right and open left! But I liked the 75 kg!!! Oh well. By the way. When the weight class is 70kg do you actually have to make 154 or if you weigh in at 154.3 do you also make weight since 70 kg it actually 154.323584 lbs.

How come I got a flier today and it lists the weight classes as 70kg, 85kg, 100kg, and 100kg+? armwrestle.com says the same thing now. Last winter I am thinking they have a 165 lbs. weight class, then they split it into 154 and 176, now it's 154 and then 187 lbs. I guess I will be giving up weight because I'm not going to be able to get down to 154 without extreme dieting, I just really hope they chance it back to 176. That makes more sense anyways. Anyway, please note the weight change. www.armwrestle.com/

Good luck getting a hotel room. No rooms in Yankton available. I called one and they said they are expecting 100,000 people to attend the riverboat days event. I was planning on going but I am not sure what to do.

I hope you can make it Steven! I'm just going to drive home after the tournament (5 hour drive). Last year the tournament got over I think at like 4:30 so driving home wasn't a big deal. If you like camping maybe you could get a campsite for the night, too.

This is the one event my wife wants to attend, and she wont drive back that night. It is 5 hours for me too. There are hotel rooms in the surrounding cities available.
I guess I better focus on the AAA nationals, my hope is I will no longer be novice after that!

Are you going to try to make this event still too? Good look at nationals, I think you have a good shot at first in the novice class.

Hey I saw that in the past this tournament was also called the South Dakota State Championships, is it still considered the State Championships?

Great tournament! It was run very smoothly. I got 1st in the 154 lbs left hand class, 2nd Heath McDonals (I beat him, then he beat me, but in the final match I won. Very tough matches). Josh Wickre took 3rd. 154 lbs. right hand Heath was unstoppable, he flashed everybody, Josh Wickre 3rd. I won the 154 lbs. novice right hand class (first novice win), the guy who got 2nd lives in Minnesota about 30 minutes away and he wants to start practicing with us! We also met another guy there who lives an hour away who wants to practice (this guy got 2nd in the 187 lbs. novice right).
In the 187's right Jim Larson won, I believe John Zvezdich (sp?) second and Jeremy Engles 3rd. Left was Jim Larson, John Zvezdich, Yosef Chalbi. Jim Larson needs to get out more, he looked very strong, nobody even gave him a match if I remember correctly.
220's Steven Green wins the novice class, in the open right it was Sonny Larson, Marty O'neil, Steven Green, left Sonny then Marty. Marty (from MN) is coming back from a 5 year retirement, has been training in the gym but not on the table, he gave Sonny a few pretty good pulls. Trapper Sallzman won the super heavies right and left, Cliff Hall taking 2nd. Great tournament can't wait for the next one!
