I was really close when RJ fell to the ground. Yes, it was Matt Harris he as pulling. No one knew what happened. Someone, I think Woody, said should we call a Medic. RJ was helped off stage. He sat down and someone had giving him ice for his arm. I went over to see how he was doing. He did not look good. He also, really wasn't sure what was wrong. I asked him if he wanted me to check if his arm was broken. We both removed the ice pack and proceeded. As RJ was showing me a raised muscle on the top of his forearm toward the elbow side we thought it not best to proceed in checking his arm, due to the pain he was in. I encouraged get to the Doctor and have an MRI done.Next thing I know RJ is gone. Thank God, he went to have his arm checked. RJ, my friend, I have you and my thoughts and prayers. I wish you the very. Keep in touch.
Allen
Get well my friend :-)

Guys, his arm was fully extended and his body was below the table. When Matt forced down on his arm, something snapped! Is there a rule in place that would have prevented this ?

Keith,
If my memory serves me right, I believe that Leonard Harkless had just told RJ to get up, and it looked like he was about to put his hand on his back to make him get up when the accident happened.
On another note, in my opinion you could not have asked for two better referees than the ones at ROTN, they did a fantastic job as I don't remember even one instance of anyone complaining about the refs!

Not questioning the refs credibilty. Bob and Leonard are best refs in the world. The question still stands...in black and white

RJ was on fire for this event and there is no doubt that he would have very likely been in the finals mixing it up. That was tough to see such a legend go down with an injury and I am hoping and praying he is able to make a full recovery. Get well brother. I know your son was looking forward to pulling in the medal class and was not able to. I have one of the medals that I will send to you along with the $$ you made. Please forward me your address RJ. Get well brother!!

if this helps. These guys are the leading authorities on Elbows. The main surgeon who taught everyone here is a graduate from LSU. His name is James Andrews. I have never heard him say I can't. here is the link andrewsortho.com/

RJ received his results today. From what he said, it looks like his radial collateral ligament in his elbow completely detached. He will definitely require surgery for his injury.
They are telling him he will have 100% recovery, and with 3 months of rehab, he should be good to start training in small amounts.
He isn't sure an exact date for surgery yet, but it looks like it will be soon.
