Alexey has a strong chance in a main draw format ie. Single Pin and Double elimination thats where it ends for me Devon 5-1 or 4 -2 if it went over Six.
Just for the record however there is a lot of Myth and Legend which was created about Zloty 2004 MOSTLY from people who were not there or were but were not really watching what was happening.
Voevoda was EXCELLENT that day BUT there were A LOT of factors involved and the John Brzenk he faced there was small, damaged and had been in some crazy wars already that day.

Did Travis not beat him at the worlds in Ottawa? yes when Voevoda was 107kg,but next year he was 124 kg and the result was different..

IMO Voevoda had the most potential for a puller over 110 kg i ever seen . Lets not forget he was a rookie practically in 04 and when he left the sport he was much better than 04

Maybe a rookie -on the elite level- in 04. He won WAF Worlds at 100KG in 2000.

A Rookie I would have to question the validity of that observation Guy to be honest mate. Alexey was Russian National and World Champion in 2000. Plus the Guy was/is quite clearly an exceptionally dedicated individual, who was surrounded by arguably the highest level of Elite competition in the World in his native country and the surrounding Countries. DON'T FORGET THE FACT THAT IRON SHARPENS IRONNot to mention the fact that he trained for the Sport on a full time basis. In four - five years of training competing at that level (Zloty took place in late 2004) I'd actually say that Alexey was a good as he was ever likley to get physically. Experience can and will always develop BUT sometimes focus, drive and ambition in a particular sport can wain which would serve as a counter to any experience gains made. Furthermore, I actually believe that long careers in Armwrestling particularly at an EXTREMELY ELITE level can be detrimental as the almost unavoidable damage and injuries that an athlete is likely to sustain can be deterimental to their physical capabilities and hence their overall peformance. This is more specific to the individual as is the point above however the fact I am trying to illustrate here is that it is possible for a very focussed, driven individual with an abundance of natural talent to acheive almost optimum performance in four years of Armwrestling. In short, Voevoda for a number of reasons was probably about as good as he was ever gonna get in 2004 IMO Cheers Neil

If Devon stopped him at all, Devon 6-0. But with that being said, asking some peoples opinions, Voevoda may have just been strong enough to take him to the pad everytime and not give Devon a chance to stop him. I would love to see a dream matchup like this as they are both still near prime ages and it could possibly be made to happen.

i believe that Voevoda could have gotten better and stronger puller if he continued.sure he was not a rookie but just because he won Worlds and Zloty it did not mean that he was at his limits.Devon became the best after his 30 and seems like he still gets better and stronger puller.and even the difference with Voevoda from 2003 WAF to 2004 Zloty proves this.

Rustam won WAF,EAC and Zloty in early 2000s..can anyone claim that he has not been getting better and stronger since then?

I'm certainly not up on everything in Euro arm wrestling and will have to eat crow on that one. But wasnt it presumed voevoda waS MUCH BETTER THE YEAR HE EXITED after beating John than he was in 04 ?

i wonder ,when Michael Todd pulled Voevoda in the supermatch,John Brzenk was also invoved in the event. why didnt they choose a match with voevoda and John...[no hard feelings to M Todd].. was it VOEVODA's choice ? any body have the exact truth?

he left right after he beat everyone at 2004 Zloty.then he just had a lefty supermatch against Travis some months after 2004 Zloty.but he had a supermatch with M.Todd (2007?)but he again quitted.
in my opinion (in double elimination format);
1. 2006 John
2. 2004 Voevoda
3. 2010 Devon

That would be a lot of power in one tournament, then throw in lupkes, Denis, Underwood, Bresnan, ect....... man I think it would turn into a toss up
