Look him up When Brent wants to win he will. Are you implying that Brent didn't want to win last time?? Seriously.., Here we go. I'll say this even though I'm gonna get slammed and Chastized. Bill and Brent from my perception are two different pullers. If Bill pursued it with the passion that Brent has he might be untouchable. I believe Bill has other things on his plate and armwrestles if it fits his schedule. Brent has been dominating this class for a good four to five years. He can walk into any 198 class in North America and will get no less than second place. Rakers has multiple national titles winning classes over the likes of Rau, Bryan Johnson, Chad Silvers, and Chris Chandler. He is a smart, disciplined, resourceful puller. He has won the triple crown when it was still prestigious. His passion has not been the same the last couple years as it was the previous few. The only accomplishment he lacks is a WAF title. All in like 5 years. I think Brent could have came in stronger and better prepared. It's not a disrespect just my opinion. This is why I feel justified in saying he is the TRUTH. Go ahead tell me why I'm wrong and all that.

Logsden handled Rakers comfortably and until Rakers beats him Logsden is better.

- kenny hughes as ridiculous as he is on the table, is like 230 now right? He does have the best hair in the game right now by far... - i think this class right now will come down to bill L, james r, brent and mike s. anyone could beat the other on a given day.

With that said.... I think bill>brent, and mike or james in the straps > bill, but brent could be bad news for the other two.

These threads are a bit like "who's the best boxer" or "who's the best RB ever". It is tough to say because, as I am learning, styles make matches. It is clear every time I practice. Some people and styles I have no problem with, then others kill me (we train full speed ready go). But the guys who I lose to then get beat by the guys who I can beat...so I think this sport has a lot to do with styles.
That considered, it is hard to dispute that Brent Rakers is the best 198'er in recent history; just as it is hard to dispute that Bill has his number lately. Two years ago how did Bill do at Kentucky Muscle...and how did the 2011 Arnold turn out? But none of us are putting Quinlan up there on a pedestal because to be the best you have to dominate the class for more than a stretch of a few tournaments and supermatches. Brent Rakers (righty) and Mike Selearis are the only two that have done that recently.
Bill may be on the verge of taking that crown, but I would like to see him win 1 Unified title...or 1 AAA or USAA title (I don't remember him winning one of the last 3 or 4 still). Then try to win all three in one year. Then do that 3 years in a row. As it stands there are probably 5 guys at that weight class who have similar credentials to Bill, or who directly have wins on him over the last 18 months.
We all have life outside of armwrestling, to use that as an excuse is lame. We travel to the tournaments we can make it to, pull who shows up and we hope to win. Bill is winning right now wherever he goes, but I don't think he is the best yet. He is awesome, but not the best IMO
