Jesse I broke my arm big time about at least 25 yrs ago. Elbow just about touched my shoulder when it swung when I stepped away from the table. My arm and hand was paralyzed because the nerve got crushed between the bone when they set it. Then they had to operate and install plates and screws which they took out after two years. I asked the doctor if I could still bench press and arm wrestle and he said it would be OK but I wasn't sure. I asked him if I had 400 on the bar would that be OK and he said the bone would be fine that the only reason I wouldn't be able to lift it was my my inability to lift it. Not the bone. He said if you want to arm wrestle it would be OK but he thought I was a little crazy. I think all arm wrestlers have a little crazy in them. Do whats best for you and you have a good mentor in your Dad. Tell him I said hello. Good luck in your recovery. I will keep you in my prayers. It ain't over till the fat lady sings.

Sorry to hear that Jesse. I broke my left humorus bone in half probably two years before I started pulling. Doc said it would never be the same but I have trained it and worked with it. Suprisingly I consistently place better lefty than righty and I am right handed. Mostly cause there are more righty pullers at local level events but it has shown me that a break like that doesn't have to stop you from moving forward. Hurts more than your other arm but you can bring it back from a break. Goodluck with recovery man.

Another little update guys, Sorry havent been on here in a while, little preoccupied with everything going on and recovery, heh.. I now have 20+ screws in and around my elbow with a plate on each side of my elbow, pretty sweet scar.. heh. But as of now im doing PT rehab on my right arm to get the bending motion back... I cant straighten my arm out all the way but almost... and cant bend my arm past 90 degrees, ((watching me eat lefty is funny)).. But i get a degree or 2 at least every day doing my exercises, Also from the surgery my nerves got moved a bit so i have very very annoying numbess (pins and needles) in my palm going into my ring and pinkie finger... But doc said that should last more than a month or so... I feel myself shrinking!!! Wish i can lift, but im not touching anything til doc says i can... Again thanks everyone for the support, i was getting depressed a bit about the whole thing, you guys really help boost my morale with all this, I'll def be back on a table lefty when possible, righty, will see... Thanks Again

My friend and team member had this injury. It took some time, but he is a much stronger and better puller now.
Zoloev had broken both of his arms and is one of the best now.
Wish you a good recovery!

Some more info guys, Went to my last check up this morning, got my x-rays (Wich i will post soon) and the doc said i can finally start lifting//working again... Thank god, i feel like a noodle, lol... As soon as i heard the news, i went to lift with my buddy (ultra light of course)... Its really weird and awkward with the metal in my arm, but im sure my body will get used to it... It sorta feels like it did b4 i ever lifted... Feels like i have to relearn my lifting technique. But hey, i rather have to re-learn how to lift then have no arm at all. Here's my last workout (b4 the break) compared to my 1st workout after 3-4 months of rest after surgery... (before) 135x10.....185x5....205x3.....225x7.....235x5.....265x2....135x5, ((First rehab workout))..barx10...65x10...85x10....85x10...115x10...135x0 <--- felt to unsteady and shaky in my right arm, didnt want to push it... Also did some curls and bench rows... The curls werent too bad... and the Rows felt great, they helped stretch my arm straight, ((as of now i dont have full flexiblity in my stretch//bend motion)) But now that i can lift, its time to build back up, rehab this arm... And start planning for my left arm in upcoming competitions Again, thanks to all who cared and helped me push on, this was a major mental blow for me... Thank you all.
