Ron Erdmann and I sat down and talked about what we thought would be the best way to do the ranking system in Texas. We came up with a point system. The system would work like this. The top 3 at the end of a tournament in each weight class will recieve points.
1st place-3 points 2nd place-2 points 3rd place-1 point
At the end of the year whoever has the most points is the champion for their weight class. The second most points would be second, 3rd most would be 3rd, so on and so on.
Now, every tournament in the state of TX would count towards the point system. The more tournaments you attend and compete in, the more points you could potentially earn.
The points leader at the end of the year will be crowned POINTS CHAMPION of their respective weight class. The POINTS CHAMPION will be awarded a prize (we were thinking a custom jacket) and prize money (we were thinking a couple hundred bucks). Now, to help pay for the prize (custom jacket) and the prize money, the tournament director from every tournament being held in the state of TX would withhold 10% of the tournaments earnings and donate it to a fund only to be distributed to the points champions.
At the end of the year we can have a Tx State Championship to all get together and do one final tournament of the year. From there, we can determine who will be the champions of the year and who will recieve the prizes. It can be at a different location each year.
This is the basic thoughts Ron Erdmann and I had. ALL TEXAS ARMWRESTLERS please let us know what you think about this system. We need everyones thoughts on this system. Thanks.

Joel beat Scott Fry right handed (as well as left) I beat James left Lee should be right behind Robbie in the 242s as well IMO. He beat all the 199-242 guys on your list.

Sorry James but this is based on recent events and Lee is headed in the right direction to get the top spot but in order for him to be the #1 seed he must pull Robby in a tournament or supermatch and win the same way everyone else has done i have yet to see or hear of Lee beating robbybut i wish him luck.

Jerry. I didn't say that to start anything. I was just stating the fact. So based on what you are saying for Lee to be ranked above Robby ha has to beat him? Look it up on Armtv. If thats true then how is Robby ranked above Lee then? Show me where he has beat Lee.

James this is based on recent matches . what happend before this thread i have no control over but Robby has agreed to pull Lee in a supermatch at 242 if Lee would like to accept the match this will put all of this to rest .Robby says Lee has no chance of beating him you are saying Lee has never lost to Robby so this sounds like a good match that needs to happen .And look at the bottom of my thread it says (Based On Recent Matches )

Jerry, I did see your post. All I'm saying is what matches are you talking about? Just tell me when he beat Lee in a tourny. Lee beat him at 2010 AAA, and two other tournaments in the Dallas area. Oh well, I am not saying that he does not even stand a chance because we all know he does. I do think it would be a great match up..Lee is kinda like me I dont really care to much for supermatches. Call him up if you want and see if he is interested I guess...

I think Keith has a good idea. However, the other side of the coin tells me that simplicity should be the goal, at first....then, graduate to a point system. It can be very tedious and time consuming keeping up with everyone's placings, verifying the placings, updating the points, etc, etc, etc. If we can stick to our guns, and let the TX State Tournament determine the rankings for at least 3-5 years, we'll have a pretty good picture as to who the top contenders are in our state.
At this point, we as a state, are somewhat unorganized....We need to begin with organizing at the local level, and remaining consistent. Houston has begun with a wonderful organization, and has remained consistent. If we, in DFW, can rally around consistency, then, maybe, we'll see West TX organize. In my mind, there should be 3 central organizations in TX-- Houston, DFW and West TX.
Just my 2 cents...(yes, I've been outta the picture for a while...even losing contact with my local AW boys....the health insurance business is crazy right now...which has lead to it taking over my time dedicated to AW)... G
