Gabe we are having new guys coming and going ur once a year ranking is crazy lots change in a year the point system was told to happen after there last tournament and we have not heard or seen it happen and u can run a tournament once a year and not follow the sport the rest of the year and expect people to be happy with the ranking for example Michael bluth has beatin almost everyone lefty and with ur ranking he has not got any credit for it on mine he started out on bottom and beat his way to the top so do I think the Texas ranking will ever be right NO they will always be a year behind .and ur right it is hard keeping up with every tournament but me and mike have done it .

There are some concerns I have with the point system: 1. Texas has not had a consistent ranking system in several years. 2. If we decide to move forward with a more complex point system too early, it could lead to inconsistency, a potential dead end. 3. Remember, both you and Mike not only need to keep up with every tournament a TX puller attends, but also need to ensure that the competitors are reporting to both of you after every tournament...then, verify with the tournament director.
I think all of us want to see TX grow. However, the method to that growth should be as consistent as possible. Too many changes could result in competitors losing faith in the system and/or interest.
I'm unsure a ranking system that is 100% accurate exists. There are flaws in every ranking system.
Please begin a new thread, specifically outlining how the point system will be ran. How will you track every competitor? How will a new competitor know to contact you with his placing at a tournament? Will competitors earn extra points based on the difficulty of who shows? What if someone places 2nd in a class with 3 competitors, 1 of whom disqualifies? Does he really earn points?
My approach with using TX State as the ranking tournament of Texas keeps everyone on task, knowing who showed and what happened. The goal is to eventually have every puller in TX show up for a potential rank...and, in the future, a ring, belt, etc. It's like the Super Bowl. If a team wins the Super Bowl, they are thought of as the #1 team in NFL...for the next 12 mos. they own that title.

What you place at the Texas State excluding out of state pullers, is your ranking. I think to much emphasis is put on the ranking, I would focus on hitting big tourneys out of state for national recognition-- JMO... It is obvious that Robbie is the best overall righty in Texas and as far as the left goes maybe that can be decided next weekend M. Bluth sounds like the man to beat right now but Hood, Browning, Jarrod Luvlett/Linley K.--are those 2 retired or what? Anyways the winner of those guys should determine the overall best left in Texas, I would think. Trying to help...That's my 3rd person prospective 2 states away.. See you all next week!!!
