Alright guy's lets hear it... do you like to pull after a tourney??
Yes or no & why?
I usually do just to grab as many arms as I can & for the experience. But a lot of guys don't for different reasons... risk of injury? teaching yer possible future opponents how to defeat you?
thoughts?

I try my best to so i can absorb all the knowledge i can. Id usually stay longer than i do, but the wife starts gettin irritable if i stay too long. As long as your not shot or injured, i dont see why you wouldnt.

Yep. Usually because I haven't made my arm completely useles by the tournament alone. Plus it is a good excuse to drink some beers with new friends.

Thanks James... same here. but a lot of guys don't for various reasons. do y'all feel it lets the other guy know to much about you & kinda size you up? I generally pull everybody in a hook only & no hits... mostly slow pulling.

It doesn't count for crap, so why even keep pulling if you can't do what you're trying to do? Let go! Lay down! If the other guy pulls a stupid, both of you let go. After pulling is the best practice ever, but it shouldn't be about winning. If you are dominating in the after pulling you must have pulled like crap during the tournament. A dedicated little girl ought to be able to give you a run for your money in the afterpulls.

I eff'd my inner right elbow up drunk hook pullin' back in 09 at nat'ls and it's been garbage ever since. What exactly happened to your inner elbow? I have a similar experience where I was arm wrestling a friend and we were practicing in the hook and he had double hand on me and on the pin, I heard like a crack....almost like when you crack your fingers, similar to this sound. And I like it was just like a forced crack like when you have tennis elbow and crack your joint. And I felt that something happened, stopped pulling, was a little sore, and the next few days it was definitely tender and sore and not a normal sore feeling, seemed like a minor injury, but no bruising or visual cues that it was seriously hurt anywhere in the elbow area. I kept light on workouts on my forearms for about two months then continued to do normal stuff, I don't feel any pain at all working out or wrist curling or anything that would put pressure there. But sometimes in a deep deep hook i can feel that something is there and I havent done 100% hook pulling in about 4 months. I just won New York State amateur division 198 in december and after tourney I was fine, but practicing the hook I still felt a little bit of something there. Its been 4 months since the incident and has gotten constantly better and better and like I said I can obviously pull pretty much to full potential now without pain but deep hook its still something but very little and miniscule. I think its still the healing process of whatever it was. Does this sound similar? If so what do you think it is? Any input on this situation? Im just pulling and working out and i respond to how my elbow responds. I never got it checked out because there was no bruising and it wasn't a serious injury, I was able to do everything right after the initial injury, but I just stayed off it since there was a little discomfort. Hope for any feedback here.

thanks for the thread hijack Jason... check the training forum as there are plenty of info regarding injuries of this type. ice & rest bud, that's about all you can do short-term. long term don't pull in painful positions including the aforementioned deep hook until yer fully recovered. good luck bud. Hope for any feedback here. Sounds pretty much like what happened to me. Deep hook = no good. Real dull deep pain like my tendons are gonna let go. I also developed a large soft tissue lump between the point of my elbow and my funny bone. Looks like a muscle almost. Had an MRI last year with no findings. They said no tears or breaks. Only a lil arthritis showing up in the elbow joint. Orhto doctor said I may need Tommy Johns surgery. Said, he thinks I have stretched or over extended my tendons and ligaments. With that surgery, most pitchers come back better and stronger. None of my homemade remedies have helped, but I can function at work and in life so, I can't justify going under the knife, missing work and a year of rehab for armwrestling. I just try to limit my hook pulling these days but, I break it out when I need to .
