I know this topic has been Touched on before........but Why in the hell would you have Florida "State"? Whether it be IAF or not. There should be ONLY one State Armwrestling Championship in each state. One "State Championship" would result with one "State Champion" (for each class) How do you think it looks if you have one guy that is FL State champ and another guy that is the same? RIDICULOUS!!! It's really stupid to have numerous events labeled as a State Championship, especially when there is already someone that holds the Florida State and has for years, before you. That is disrespectful the the real director of the Florida State Armwrestling Championship. My opinion. Don't like it? OH WELL!!!!!!

There r 3 nationals in this country, so what's the difference if u have different st champions from different assocs?
The only way this will ever change is if AWers got together and boycotted 2of the Nats and same with sts...but that will never happen...

thanks for the support from those who understand and sorry to those that dont. I want so much more for this sport and i attend i doing my best to bring the state of florida and the sport just that. All respects to Karen and AAA. I am IAF and just like boxing there are several world champs for several leagues. I pray and hope that IAF will become the premere league. I am willing to work with other directors if they contact me and there is a mutral benifit for all. Dont know why Tennesse worries about florida.

No disrespect to anyone but, yes it should only one State Championship, and years ago it was only one National. The A.A.A. then people started creating other organizations and then their own Nationals. Now it's so many different organizations it's pitiful. Some say it helps the sport but I disagree. It's pulling it apart if anything in my opinion.

I was recruited by Bill Cox head of the IAF its been around since 1983 i think. So its nothing new just moved into Florida. If someone had an idea that would benifit all parties i for one would be open to it.

People are nostalgic Anthony and with good reason. But I think anybody doing anything to promote the sport is good by me. Several states have multiple titles and it is gonna be that way until our sport goes mainstream and all state and nationals are united under one organization. If I am in Florida when your tournament is held, I will be happy to attend. No disrespect to anybody.

multiple organizations offering State titles have never mattered because no organization in the US has ever had a presence in every state. Until a few years ago, AAA was king if you lived east of the Mississippi (or in Nebraska) and USAA was king out west. Then there was IAF in the Northeast and a smattering of little orgs scattered around in between. And if you live in NY then none of it matters unless you win Gene Camp's events because he's the Original King of New York and his events have been turning out badasses for longer than anyone can remember.
More power to Anthony for putting on a State event. IAF has just as much right to a State event as any other organization. Legacy organizations are great, but being first doesn't mean you get to claim every state you ever held tournaments in. If that was the case you would live in a McDonalds town or a Burger King town, or maybe in Texas you'd live in a What A Burger town. Nobody else could ever come in and sell hamburgers. That's what people seem to think about armwrestling organizations for some crazy reason.

LOVE IT OR HATE IT.
FIRST OF ALL....
1. KAREN BEAN HAS MORE THAN ESTABLISHED THIS EVENT IN DEC EVERY YEAR SINCE BEFORE I WAS IN THIS SPORT.
2. IT SHOWS LITTLE OR NO COMMON SENSE TO CALL YOUR EVENT FLORIDA STATE WHEN THERE IS ALREADY ONE?
3. LITTLE TO NO IMAGINATION TO CREATE SOMETHING FOR YOUR OWN?
4. I SAID THE SAME THING WHEN THERE 2 ALABAMA STATES.
5. 3 NATIONALS...IS A JOKE AS WELL.
I'VE BEEN DOING TOURNAMENTS FOR A WHILE, AND I'VE ALWAYS HELD GREAT RESPECT FOR OUR FLORIDA STATES AND WILL CONTINUE TO DO SO. BUT TO SAY IT'S YOUR VERSION OF FLORIDA STATES? THAT'S A COP OUT!!!
NEXT THING YOU KNOW, WE'LL HAVE 2 BATTLE OF THE SOULS......THAT'D BE HILARIOUS....
THATS MY TAKE ON IT...
IT'S A LACK OF RESPECT...IT'S A SLAP IN THE FACE....AND ALSO TELLING PEOPLE THEIR ENTRY FEES ARE CHEAPER BECAUSE OF KAREN'S EVENT? IS ANOTHER SLAP IN THE FACE....AND KAREN HAS YET TO SLAP BACK FOLKS.....
I THINK SHE SHOULD AND I'VE GOT HER BACK ON THAT!!
FROM A GUY WHOSE BARELY EVEN PULLED? HE'S GONNA BE FLORIDA STATES REPRESENTATIVE? KAREN'S HOSTED FOR EVENTS THAN ANTHONY'S WATCHED OR PULLED IN.....IT'S WRONG!! IT'S WRONG!!! IT'S WRONG!!!
I'D REALLY BE SURPRISED TO SEE KAREN'S FRIENDS OR SUPPORTERS GO TO THIS EVENT.....THAT WOULD BE SAD.
I'VE HELD MY TONGUE.....BUT KAREN'S A GOOD CLOSE FRIEND OF MINE...AND IT HAS TO BE SAID.
T/K

T.K. you started your own NFA are you telling me that if it grows to what you think it will your not going to push for a bigger better Fla. States ! That would be a rediculous statement ! The Florida States used to be what it is Florida States not multiple states pulling ! Anthony if this is truly for just florida pullers you have the right to call it a florida state champion. if not there is already a Florida States ewvery December ! It has been a long time since Florida has had a director that truly promotes Florida pullers ! Kevin Johns was the best promoter in the state of florida ! I am sure he would give advice as to how to promote a tourny if you ask ! Pulling his tourny was like pulling a Nationals ! Good luck to all I will be seeing you at a tourny real soon !
