Like anything else you can't make everyone happy.....At some point someone in this sport needed to take the lead and bring it to the next level....if you want it to grow!
It comical hearing people say this sport will grow, not in the USA with how promoter are doing it, if you think other wise your a bit delusional! Or should i say as history repeats itself it's gone nowhere..USA had a few good runs but died quickly..
Promoters been chasing around the same 300-400 pullers for the entry fee, inside of 4 walls, the only one seeing the event are our customers, the pullers. How is that growing?
My partner once asked me how do we make this sport popular and make it grow, the answers>>>vision, hard work, heart, integrity, balance and get it in front of a million people...UAL is doing that!
UAL has made a few mistakes along the way but like anything else, the learning curves make you a better, smarter and a stronger company.
All the elements are in place and now is the time, the hater will always hate and the jealous will always be jealous, but the pullers who have faith and have seen the integrity of the UAL will follow and want to be part of something great..
People are stroking over contracted pullers, do you see a UFC fighter cross over and fight in bellator or xtream, the organization invest money and promote the athlete, hoping to get ROI. No diff rent then what UAL is doing, the problem is if you think small you stay small , think big and go big..
Puller have the choice!!! Anyone can still pull in a UAL event but only the contracted pullers will have the opportunity to pull in a live televised armwrestling event with additional perks ($$$)...

Bill Thank you for writing such a good clear point of view, you have always been one of the most trusted and respected promoters I have know. You have seen all sides of this sport and have seen what has held it back as well. what you and ginger have done for us all is honorable and now with you being co founder of UAL, that is what really gives it integrity. on a few points I may ask you about as follows...
just to clarify this for us "Rogue or unsigned" Armwrestlers that you say can still compete in UAL events, but will not be on TV. If some Rogue Unsigned guy, destroys all ual competitors, and still don't sign, The World will not see it??
You know me and my visions and YES I see a lot of good here for the sport, and see your comparison to the UFC, and how they don't fight in other orgs...But on that note.. Dana White, who must be Roberts idol, has bought out most other fighting championships, such as strikeforce, pride ect...To many Dana White is NOT a very nice guy..But he has the Millions of dollars so he don't care. I know he has in a sence Bought your org. out , and made it profitable for you to do that. However there are still promoters who have worked all their lives for us, and they should continue..
Thank you , Sol "Arm and Hammer" Ingram

Dana white ... Not a nice guy for buying out businesses ?... It's business... The point of business is profit... No profit no business Those people could have chose not to sell out, yet they did... Where was their integrity?... Seems they made a decision as money based as the guy buying.
It's been decades... And we are still in pubs standing on each other to catch a view of the action... Sorry, but I didn't see us going anywhere. Let's be honest, the thing wgat had promoters bent is this will hurt their pockets... Period, or so they think. Promoters didn't promote... They kept grabbing at the same guys and same entry numbers... And the bottom line is $$$.... Pullers been griping all along... But nothing changed... Along comes an organization and takes heed ... Everyone follows... Presto !!

Sol ive known you for almost 10 years, my first tournament that got me exposure and my name out there was at your tournament in Washington! Your a great guy, but i also know Robert has the puriest of intentions for this sport. He doesnt just see it as a business he loves this sport and wants it to grow. He has a vision that and the will to take this sport to a place we all want it to go! We should support the UAL and unite with Bill and Robert because in 5 years those who dont will be left in the dust wishing they would of jumped on board when they had a chance... And Bill/Robert I don't know the key to success, but the key to failure is trying to please everybody. Keep on doing what your doing!

Brandon Good to hear you say that, I remember you coming up in the ranks, very proud of you. I know things will work out, and what the ual is doing is going to help the sport in a big way. But I do not think it has to try and be "IT" or to monopolize it. I don't think that is good for the sport world wide. Trust me, there will be Other leagues, and that is not a bad thing. We don't want to forget those who have been or friends ect..just because we are UAL Athletes...You are a Bad dude on the Table , even when it is not a ual event!
I am NOT anti ual, I think most intelligent people can see. im just voicing my concerns ect...But heck I was told by the ual boss..he wasn't interested in signing me...lol...so even though I can flash Mac or Hoffman, does that make me ..Good enough to be a signed ual athlete....I don't think so....jmo..
I knew you were gonna be great when you were 16, when I won the Washington state title...Best of luck my friend...I will miss you at the next superstar showdown next year... sincerely Sol

I personally think the UAL is a great idea because it establishes a well-structured brand for the sport. What's great is that the UAL can lead the way on random drug testing so that the leaders in our sport can truly lead the way in this regard. I'm thrilled that a league like this is in favor of drug testing and look forward to the effect it can have on the sport as a whole.

I wish everyone the best of luck on becoming the Arm wrestlers they wish to be. Knowing what has been offered and how things worked themselves out with other promotions. The thought of having one league is the best route Congrats to the UAL for making it a dream come true for the big little guys;)

Wow! Bill, I am completely dumbfounded with the UAL. Giving a contract to someone that has only pulled two events and couldn't even take first in a two person class is simply a joke. It takes away the credibility of women that actually compete in the sport. Do some of the guidelines state that you only have to be sleeping with an arm wrestler to be considered a professional arm wrestler? Is the new direction that you're taking female armwrestling going to be women jacked up on steroids? This is not directed towards the women who have actually put in their time, training, and love for the sport. This is directed towards the coat tail rider.
