U can still pull other events just non "paid" meaning amateur style events. If you're a pro athlete yes you are exclusive and we will provide enough events to keep you busy...
The benefit to the amateurs is the ability to still compete but get the opportunity at an ultimate match up as you grow and also the promotional dollars we will put behind character building!
I hope that explains...

Wow! Bill, I am completely dumbfounded with the UAL. Giving a contract to someone that has only pulled two events and couldn't even take first in a two person class is simply a joke. It takes away the credibility of women that actually compete in the sport. Do some of the guidelines state that you only have to be sleeping with an arm wrestler to be considered a professional arm wrestler? Is the new direction that you're taking female armwrestling going to be women jacked up on steroids? This is not directed towards the women who have actually put in their time, training, and love for the sport. This is directed towards the coat tail rider. YES!!!!!

Robert, take the Pull of the Mountains event coming up in a week. Would Istill be allowed to compete in such an event? It is AAA sanctioned and has cash pprizes.

I have private messaged Robert and wrote an email to where Bill directed for more info and I still haven't gotten any response. Maybe it's a pick and choose concept?

So if you sign with the UAL you are considered a pro and can no longer pull in "money" tournaments outside the UAL. Nationals is considered a "money" tournament so the UAL pullers can no longer compete for national titles? If a UAL puller is a paid pro how can they be considered amateur's and be allowed to pull in these events? This seems to put the other organizations in a position to have to refuse entry to UAL pullers if for nothing else but for liability reasons. They are after all professionals... Will the organizations allow UAL pullers to pull for a national title and not accept money? If so are the UAL pyller allowed to pull in said tournament? It is a money tournament from beginning to end still...

Only those who signed know what's in their contracts, an if so, they r aware of what they CAN and CAN NOT do....their brig boys an girls, they can handle it.
And since when is any of the FOUR Nats considered a " money" tourney?
Also, I don't think most area out Nat titles since there r 4 AND it doesn't really matter, if you have a NAT title, when it comes to recognitioni in this "sport". Seems all u need to do is beat someone on someone's else's rankings and ur the new $hit..

I got $150 at USAA Nationals this year. Just enough to cover 80% of my hotel room.

The benefit to the amateurs is the ability to still compete but get the opportunity at an ultimate match up as you grow and also the promotional dollars we will put behind character building! I hope that explains... Please elaborate. As an example, I plan to pull the open class at the Pull of the Mountains tournament in Georgia in a week. There are cash prizes. Would I be eligible to pull an event like this if I'm signed as an amateur with the UAL? Is it even appropriate to classify me as 'amateur' if I pull open, although I am not a top flight open class puller? My guess, and correct me if I'm wrong, is that I don't qualify as amateur which means if anything I'm a low-end pro and that is the only way I'd be contracted by the UAL if that were ever to happen.

I'm not trying to be difficult if I'm coming across that way. I'm just not sure I fully understand what the UAL is really looking for. The early signings were quite a mixed bag and then the notion of amateur contracts made things all the more obscure.
