In my opinion Marcio is by far the best left handed UAL puller. I don't know Jonathan, I am sure he is a good beginner otherwise the match would not happen. I know Mike had a very serious injury in the not so distant past. That being said, he has since been tested by - in my opinion - a very solid puller in Chandler. It would suprise me to see anything other than 3-0, maybe 3-1 with the wake up call... Yup----and I don't see Mike entering a match where he feels he will be over his head. He's not the type who would set himself up for a loss.

There's really one way to eliminate all these speculations and that's through rankings, when someone reaches that #1 contender spot they get the title shot...you're not going to give the #15 ranked guy a crack at #1 Cain Velasquez in the UFC, why do it in the UAL?
Before people start saying Hoffman isn't or is the #15 guy, that's irrelevant--it was an example...I think most of us would agree he's not the #1 contender and that's the point I'm making.

Actually many times a number 5-10 contender gets a title shot. More so in the lighter classes.

Actually many times a number 5-10 contender gets a title shot. More so in the lighter classes. Well when you're GSP or Anderson silva and have smashed everyone under the sun from rankings 1-100 of course they're gonna find anyone willing to get in the cage, hardly the case with MT in this scenario.

^^^ this guy sounds smart; he better have the big coffee mug at work.
Take into account a few different things: this is a UAL event and only UM shots are given to UAL athletes I believe. Others who have mentioned their wanting this chance (chandler) doesn't weigh in as a SHW... so to keep things kosher, what SHW contracted athletes would have been a better choice?
I think your same exact argument could be applied to michael todd as well. Is he really the #1 contented left handed to be challenged in the SHW category?

I signed with the UAL. I am not on the site yet, but I would like a title shot some day soon.

Yes, Marcio and both Ryan Espey are inline for the Title Shot and will get it! We have to start somewhere and given the situation I felt Jon and Michael would be a perfect "Start" for the Left Arm Title shot… This Match should be closer than everyone thinks, we shall see in 4 days

Ragardless of the chatter... Jonathan could have a "Rocky" moment here. I think it is a good start to establish a Champion.

I think it's pretty clear that Marcio Barboza is the #1 contender as a UAL signed Left handed SHW...not to mention his list of accomplishments, victories and his reptuation speaks for itself. I wish you the best in the sport, Jon, and these comments and opinions aren't to take away from you or your future in the UAL. I just think in the world of "fair" this title shot is undeserving and there are other pullers that have been around longer and paid their dues for that shot. If I was Barboza, I'd be pretty pissed off.

No need for anyone to be pissed off, Marcio knows he's getting the next shot at the title. We had to Start somewhere and Jon is a beast deserving or not…
