Praying for healing!
I wrote the following devotional today for a class I'm taking. Thought I'd share since it bears relevance to the situation.
Devotional:
Verse: “Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.” (NIV, James 1:2-4)
Having a four month old daughter is a lot of fun. However, there are times I must do things for her benefit that she is not very fond of. An example of this is “tummy time”. Since she sleeps on her back, she needs to spend some time on her stomach to build up the muscles in the back of her neck. My daughter does not always like doing this nor does she understand why she must do this, but I have her do it because it will make her stronger. She often becomes discontent and fusses during her “tummy time”. Likewise, there are many things in life that the Lord has us go through. Things that are difficult and, as far as we can tell, unbeneficial. Like my daughter, we become discontent with our circumstances. However, the Lord has a purpose for all the trials that we endure. When you find your faith tested, take joy in knowing the Lord is using the situation to strengthen you.

Rick just let me know that they're moving his son to rehab but he is still restricted from having visitors. Rick asked that you continue to keep him in your prayers.

Rick said his son hit his head playing football with a friend. He was unconscious for about 40 minutes. He couldn't move anything or speak for about 3 hours. The upper half came back last friday and the lower half has been slow to respond but its starting to return now. He asked that everyone continue to pray.
"We are not out of the woods yet but we can see the light at the end of the tunnel! God is great!"
