I prefer medals. Easier to transport and display than trophies. +1

i have thrown away mountains of trophies only because you get tired of packing them when you move. i finally disassembled them and the parts filled a pile of boxes. they never got reassembled and those boxes kept getting moved and stored, moved and stored.
in hindsight i wish I'd have popped the placards off and kept them. i have no record of all my years of pulling now.
even now i give my trophies to my kids when i get home.
medals i keep.

I really dislike metals and trophy's, unless the trophy was just really unique. I have 2 plaques are a little more special because there was only giving to first place winners. One big prizes or very limited prizes for the big classes make it special, then metals for the rest of the classes

I did plaques for strongman with the poem "The Duty of the Strong" on it. They went over well. Narragansett beer is sponsoring the event and usually hand out a ton of t-shirts and beer buckets with hats, openers, and other stuff that we give out for the top 3

Other than the table from Frank idea I like Medals. i have trophys scatter all over the country and many like John Wilson said have been thrown away or destroyed. Besides that when I used to keep them my wife would get very cranky about dusting them.

This may sound a little kiddie but any fellow service members may understand, but unique patches for each event. It'd be nice to have them sewn on a kick ass jacket.

I remember going up to Canada 25 years ago, because they were giving out top notch belt buckles. I won both arms in the supers. They had one on hand for viewing, and said they were having them made up, and said they would mail them to me! Never did get them, but they were very nice, with a set of arms in the middle.

If my memory is correct, I thought the plaques given at the nationals in chicago in 2002 were pretty nice. Just saying.

The medals (and cash) Gary Roberts had at ROTN 08 were really nice! What does UAL usually give for pro almond with $, anything or just the cash? Just curious because I haven't paid attention.

Good thread, a line has to be drawn. Like John, I also moved a lot and after the 20th time, the boxes of newspaper wrapped trophys got scrapped. The flip side is the guys that a trophy means the world. I'd say in AW for novice/AMs give trophys, for the elite who place top three in the open, give them something small, and worthy of the effort put into their sucess. My suggestion, mint pure silver coins with the tourney info, something actually worth something. Even the freekin olympics dosn't give pure gold/silver. Lets do this...

Makes me think about the olympics....they award gold, silver and bronze. How the shi* do they get away with not giving actual "gold" metals? That's weak. What kind of cheap skates do we have running the premire "athletic competition" in the world? Fuc* the olympics, armwrestling is too good for it

Hey, Josh Handeland, Mike West, Bart Wood, Bill Collins, Bob Brown, Karen Bean,Bill Cox, Denise & Leoarnd, David owen ,and Jeff Ames. my opinion, what do all you think about Gold ,Sliver, bronze with arms crossed medals little heavy and 1st-3rd place with prizes cash $$$$. it'll be a nice as very cool. I have an good an idea, new style Medals with 1 inches of hands (grip) x 2 1/2 or 3 inches long between the wirst and the elbow ( forearm) crossed arms with colors gold, silver, and bronze. If all of you are an interesting on ? I just offer you. Maybe, it'll grow good business in future 2014-2015. Some guys armwrestlers like it ?
