The WAL tournament pullers are asked to sign a waiver and could be shown on TV. I am assuming that this is still not an event UAL pullers can pull in? I was wondering the same thing.

I was thinking this decision was geared towards letting their athletes pull in WAL specifically. I'm sure that the UAL pullers would like their chance to earn some of the money that WAL is handing out. If that is so, the Vegas WAL would be pretty awesome.

WAL Rules
Competitors can compete in apparel of their choosing provided that 1) it does not contain and logo from a competitive league or 2) is not apparel purchased or belonging to any other league. Additionally competitors will change apparel if the apparel they are planning to compete in is deemed to be non optimal for any video or photography that might be taking place at the event.
UAL Rules Correct me if I am wrong, but UAL signed athletes must wear UAL gear at all events.

If we have learned anything. It's Roberts rules are very fluid and very rapidly changing. BUT the website doesn't really keep up very well.

I know that the WAL doesn't allow any logos besides the WAL at the tournament. Don and Mike had to tell several pullers to change because of the clothes they were wearing at the last one. The "no logos" rule seems to really be in anticipation of TV. So, the UAL rule is really dependent on the UAL itself. UAL logos, even if worn, will be blurred out like any other logo. If Robert were to come to an agreement with WAL to let it be worn, or if he were to allow the pullers to forego the UAL apparel for this tournament, it comes down to the UAL's ultimate decision. From talking with Don and Mike, it doesn't seem like the WAL is implementing this rule to keep anyone out; it is all about TV. Mainly, saving money from blurring out any logos that are not sponsored. Steve Kaplan is the money guy, and he seems more interested in the branding of individual athletes, rather than the WAL as an organization. That's just my opinions from how the contracts seem to be set up, so don't quote me on that. Either way, I would like to see UAL pullers at the WAL tournaments because that is the arm wrestling fan in me. But at the same time, it isn't my money, time, or organizations involved in the situation. So, I can't complain either way.

AT THE WAL EVENT I ATTENDED IN COLUMBUS WE WERE TOLD THAT THEY ASK YOU TO WEAR THEIR BRAND. THEY STATED THAT YOU SHOULD PROMOTE YOUR BRAND.

If we have learned anything. It's Roberts rules are very fluid and very rapidly changing. BUT the website doesn't really keep up very well. The web site captures the event rules, nothing with contract rules...So when there is a rule change I'll take care of that issue... UAL contracted athlete are required to wear UAL gear, so if WAL wants some of the best pullers competing at their event (as mentioned in this thread), UAL is open to that objective.. if WAL chooses not to let them wear UAL gear, guess it's not a happy medium..

Mildly, Bill, that smacks of a straw man.

Someone called me and said it was not clear about UAL contracted pullers wearing UAL gear, so here is it again..... These "agreements" were in place before the GOA and WAL went live, so this info is not new..
