Nothing (risked) nothing gained; the athletes are aware of the risks. And what real fighter is going to say no? Gary had a match against Dan Kadlec last year and lost. What matters is that we know what he has achieved.

I agree with Tim. I saw him at the MGC a few weeks ago. Fighting took its toll on him. He is still a great guy but not the same.

Does Gary's condition affect him physically, i.e. impact his strength, or was he just not trained up at all for that last supermatch?
I of course realize the psychological issues associated with CTE, but I didn't think it affected actual strength.

Mr. Bresnan thanks for your input. I just know sometimes the media and news sources depict reality in a contorted light. This was never intended to disrespect Mr. Goodridge.

Hi Tim, With all due respect, it seems you've assumed the worst in this case, Mr. Bresnan. I have the utmost respect for Gary and didn't want the issue to be cast in this light, hence the reminder that all athletes are aware of the risks, and that Gary should be remembered in the sport for what he did achieve; that he was the best of the best! With regard to the premise of the article: I hint that real fighters often find it hard to quit, for various reasons. Not that the article is necessarily in bad taste, but one might hope we would be spared.

For less b ,Whe you are talking about a man like Gary you shouldnt post the kind of pic you posted Gary is a great man and the subject was not something you make light of in anymanner!!!!!!!!

Ok, Tim, let me explain it for you: The gif was not meant to be funny. Pertaining to the article cited; it's not as though it were as easy for warriors to say no to a fight as refusing a cup of coffee, when things get said like, "he should have known when to quit" etc. That's why I put it where I put it.
Think a bit further maybe.

Ah, I see Tim. I ask because I saw the super match he had in 2012, the one where you pulled Devon at the same event, and I noticed that even during one match when he got locked into his hook and had decent position, his power just wasn't there either. Certainly he doesn't have the same reaction on the go, but even when he wasn't flashed, he just didn't seem to have anything for his opponent in a hook. I wasn't sure if that was due to his condition, or if he just hadn't been training.

Las or should I say Obama, really? Really? What's next for your medical agenda? Well, personally wouldn't have dedicated a thread to this topic and article in this section, and that some would believe that feeling sorry for a warrior is disrespectful. But maybe that's just the black mascot of oligarchs in me speaking.

Likewise some people believe pretending to be an expert on something one has little to no experience in is disrespectful. But that doesn't deter many novice from coming on an Armwrestling forum and telling the World how it is in their limited experience. You know what your intention was with the picture so stick to your guns and don't blow smoke when someone reacts negatively to it.
