Allen, Who you calling weirdo? Don't forget I know where ya live. BTW - when did you start calling Ryan "tiger" and "cupcake"? Uh, Nancy, there is something I failed to mention to you... I'm sorry, I cannot even pick like that, I almost made myself puke.

you made my stomache turn...... The truth is what the bible says and what the bible says if your faith is not in what christ did for you at calvary we are all destined to hell outside fo that. Personally i look at that as a lifeline not condemnation. If they were saying your going to hell if you dont come to my church then it would be a manipulative tactic of mind control. but they dont care if you go to there church im sure they would love it if you did. but ultimatly they just want you know Jesus and live a life victorious over sin with the blessed assurance of salvation. Are you familiar with Bethany World Prayer Center in Baton Rouge/Baker? Allen might remember me talkin about it. Larry Stockstill www.bethany.com This is a church that uses manipulative mind control tactics to grow there church. they intituted a pyramid structure in the church and every member had to participate in get 12 people involved and planted in the church and each of those twelve had to get 12 and so on and so forth. The preacher Joel Stockstill straight up during service said if you dont submit to this vision your in rebellion and rebellion will lead you to hell. They also looked down on you if you simply visited another church. These are asspects of what a cult is. (that i can remember) 1. 100% loyalty: (they will get this loyalty by physical or spiritual threats) 2. Isolation: ( they try to not let you get an outsiders opinoin on there group/society) 3. Lack of Privacy: (Ex. bethany would take you on "encounter" retreats and part of the weekend you were to write or confess your darkest secrets before everyone, this is not biblical confession) 4. Financial Investment: (some cults wil have you sell or give al your things to them.) Ex.part of bethany's program was that each new member was required to go the "the school of leaders" wherein 4 class you bought a book for $10. they were always trying to incorporate new classes. 5. Doctrinal Confusion: there doctrine dont make sense. Ex. at bethany it was taught strongly that you shouldnt question your leadership, you should submit no matter what. God will reward you for your submission and judge the leader for hiswrong doings. But that aint what the bible teaches the bible teaches that we are all acountible for our own actions sins and knowledge of the word of God. The G12 structure began in Bogata, Columbia (supposedly) by Cesar Costellonos(sp?) its a church with 200,000 people in a city of 7 mill......Thats alot of books. thats alot of money. and its required or you in rebellion and going to hell. THIS IS A CULT USING MIND CONTROL AND MANIPULATION. bethany has 6-8000 people 3 different churchs in baton rouge. Larry Stockstill is practically trying to control Baton Rouge. Hes a nice loving man, what everyone thinks a christian oughta be. never condeming anyone or teling them there going to hell with out jesus. Its a place were the average person would love to take there family and raise them...........until you get deeply involved and it wrecks your home, and you get a divorce and kids hate you and abandon you. and you never feel at peace because you feel a pressure of not being a good enough leader no matter how much your trying to be obedient to God. Sorry does that come off like i bitter towards bethany? please forgive me. Allen, i know your just playing sugardumplin

When i was struggling with my place at bethany and the bondage that was on my life and while i worked at the radio/tv station. it was Jimmy Swaggert and his radio station preaching the message of the cross. that gave me hope that i had not fallin from Gods hands where nothing else gave me that assurance. Only Jesus Christ.
Bethany sent through out the church a command that there members shouldnt listen to swaggerts program (isolation) becasue he was speaking out against the vison of the church (G12). God delivered me from that bondage i was in and the church that helped institute it. It was Swaggerts programs and the message that he preached that the lord used to lead me in that victory and out of the struggle of being a "good" christian.
NOTE: one of bethany's church is literally one road over from swaggerts. Bethany just built that church there 4-5 years ago in an attempt to shut swaggerts down. Its was there goal to 200,000 people in their church like bogata. problem is there is only 200,000 in baton total. where as bogata had 7 mill total.
Perhaps the reason i speak out against cults and false religions the way i do is because i know what kind of bondage it can put on you and the direction it leads you. but if your not looking for truth and are satisfied with your bondage youll never see that it is a bondage.

Hey Christian, I noticed you complimented my taste in music here on the music thread about 14 feet north of this post. Anyhow, I was wondering if you go the Ramones 2 disc Anthology. It is awesome. The shame is, that it is available to various and sundry other crappy pop-punk musicians at their local record store as well. TOO BAD. Now maybe we'll have to listen to another cliche' generation of "non-conforming" bands using every Ramones hook they can steal.

I like most kinds of music, but in particular I like the bands Linkin Park, Godsmack, Nirvana, Disturbed, and Green Day. I like very little country, and little rap to. Lately, for some reason, my interest in opera and classical music has gone up.
P.S.The 80's was the best time for music. ;D

Okay, now that I've had time to actually read this whole thread, I'm going to jump in. STEVEN! WOW! Classical piano music! Very nice choice! I'm impressed... an armwrestler who enjoys classical music- and a guy, at that! Although, I have to agree with Jeremy- Justin Timberlake- latest music is really good for the most part. Nancy- I really do like the ones you mentioned as far as Britny Spears, Back street boys, etc... very good music... good tournament stuff as well... I can listen to Eminem sometimes, and do enjoy Enigma as well... (not that I classify them as the same type, they just both started with an "E")... Big-N-Rich... love it! "Save a horse, ride a cowboy"... that's about as close to country as I can get. Usher, Creed, Dave Matthews, Blues Traveler, I enjoy... but I also absolutely LOVE JOSH GROBAN! Wow! What a voice! BUT NOTHING IN THE WORLD WILL BEAT THE EARLY '70'S ROCK AND ROLL! My ultimate love... Those were the days when they were actually musicians. (although the Boy bands can harmonize quite well)... Christian and James, I have no idea who the "Romones" are! Can you enlighten me? (I suppose I could "google" them, but I'm too lazy right now!) I pretty much enjoy all types of music, depending upon my mood... but the one era I can do without- '80's- yuk Okay- I've added my 2 cents and then some...

Elaine, please tell me you were kidding about the Ramones thing. Trust me, even if you haven't heard them, you've heard them. They are one of the most copied groups of all time. Not to mention, they signed over the rights to some of their music early on and received barely any royalties if any at all, for commercials, movies etc... that used their tunes. You've heard Blitzkriek Bop, California Sun and I want to be Sedated in innumerable commercials. They've been dying off the past few years despite the fact that they had an album called Too Tough to Die. Anyhow, to be they bridged the gap between older music and modern punk rock. They were innovative, distinctive and unfortunately did too many drugs.

Okay, James- I'm going to have to google them! I honestly don't know them by name... perhaps have heard the music, but it really doesn't come to my mind right now! You need to remember, I live in IDAHO! (sometimes it takes a little longer for things to get over the mountains from the East!) Okay, no excuse... Nancy, you mention "Free Bird"- I do know that one, but the Ramones? hmmmm I will do my studying today...
