Why is the sky blue?
We have all heard kids ask that one, but there is a scientific answer!

If you were traveling in a car faster than the speed of sound, could you hear the person next to you screaming? Scientific answer for that one too!

I would say yes because that person is traveling the same speed and their sound waves are to. does that make sense

Ryan,
you are correct.
same principle applys in various things, the faster than the speed of sound is an attempt to draw people to the wrong conclusion.

The sky is blue for different reasons than for the ocean being blue or green. What color is water? ( like drinking water or stream water) Sort of a trick question.

I used to think about a scenario all the time of how cool it would be to throw a baseball 50mph and have it actually standing still in mid air.
get on a bus traveling 50mph and throw the ball in the opposite direction at 50mph and then you just levitated a ball suspended in mid air. of course untill gravity over came it.
Its kinda the same concept of jumping at the right time when a plan crashes would you survive? the only way you would survive is if you could produce enough opposite energy to counteract the fall.

Just like the myth busters: if the cable breaks on an elevator, can you save yourself if you jump, just before you hit the bottom?
No, It's impossible for the human body to generate enough force to counteract the momentum.
fun to think about though
