I will give you advide handed down to me. You can't buy a gun that looks good in a case or in a magazine. You can't buy a gun without holding it, and you should never buy a caliber that you have never shot before. All of that being said I would direct you to your local gun range that rents updated models for your shooting pleasure. Calibers that I would recomend for having in your truck, baring that you will obtain your concealed weapons permit, are a well balnced 9mm such as a OD green model glock, or the atractive sig sauer p220 in a 40 cal. I have owned both of these pistols and have been more than pleased. If you are a miltary buff then I would recomend the glock, but if you want a fine peace of craftsmanship and a close to match grade gun then go for the sig. Ryan if you can't find a sig dealer in your town let me know and I will have my gun tracker find a gun close by for you to take a look at. By the way both of these guns are suitable for vehicle transport as both are not overly small and overly light and can be perceived as a officer friendly weapon which could save you a bit of time if youare ever pulled over with it in your truck. Good luck buddy!!!

I am a true believer in the .40 caliber I carry a Glock 23 and have shot dozens of different types of handguns and i find the glock to be the best....but with a starting price of around $625.00 it is probably a bit to high.... but if all you want is a gun to carry in your truck and to shoot at cans (plinking) I suggest a .357 caliber Revolver with a 3" barrel which can be bought used for less than $200.00 and the reason i say .357 is it very versitale as you can shoot both .38 and .357 with it and if are not an experienced shooter than the revolver is the way to go. also I would suggest find one that is hammerless or have the hammer stoned off as this will eliminate the possibilty of the gun going off accidently......JMO

Ryan, are you sure if someone were to speak ill of you and Jesus that you wouldn't take that convenient drastic measure into your own hands?
I, myself, have a Remington .270 Model 700. Not exactly a pistol, but I can get them while they are on the run. ;D
Seriously, Ryan, be careful with whatever you get.

Ryan, are you sure if someone were to speak ill of you and Jesus that you wouldn't take that convenient drastic measure into your own hands? Im not the one that gets aggressivly defensive. besides somebody has to protect you pumpkin. Im not inexperienced with firearms, just never owned a handgun. I have an assualt rifle .22 with 2 30rd banana clips and a 50 round drum. Its a low cal replica of a russian rifle made in italy and distributed from atlanta....go figure

HAHA thats classic. LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Chris is the price for a glock higher on the east coast? Because I have bought and two friends have also bought there OD green models at or a little below 400. Weird Okay I just did a search online and found 3 G17's ranging from 420 to 440. I think its just that I am so thrifty that I find such cheap prices.

It had been awhile since i shopped for a gun....so I looked around and found a Glock for $499.95 which has come down since the the last time i looked ($625) I bought my Glock about 12 years ago and I paid $400 back then (best $400 I ever spent) so more than likely the price flucuated when they became very popular and then back down when sales leveled off....JMO

Ryan I found the pt111 in the titanium and black model for $399 before tax and services around here. Let me know if you are interested and I will get you in contact with the dealer. If you are interested find out how much your local gun shop will charge you to use their papers in getting a gun shipped. Usually its around 40 bucks if you don't have your own. Better deal if you only buy a gun once every blue moon or so. Whatever round you choose I will make you some cool white powder rounds. They make it possible to see where your bullet is going due to putting some talcom powder in with the gun powder.

My grandma gave me a fairly rare gun that has been out of production for 15 years. All the reports ive seen and comment have been wonderful. This has been a favorite of the Police dept. And i am well please in its power comfort and the fact that i didnt spend a dime is friggin sweet. www.alpharubicon.com/leo/starpdserger.htm
