Kostya Tszyu is the man I think who holds the light weight crown for being the best of all time. Hatton would have been crushed if it weren't for the age factor. You knew this was the end for Kostya anyways because he was retireing after the fight. As for heavys I have no clear winner... Alot of todays fighters are from the east block and that makes me very happy, but still I don't know how Ali would have stacked up against some of those monsters. Klitchsko(spelling?) was the world kickboxing champion before he was the boxing champ... That has to count for something.

Foreman vs Norton
Foreman vs Holyfield (when Foreman at the age to be a grandfather-43)
Foreman vs Muhammad Ali (when Foreman was 26 and Ali was 32)

The Best is probably still Sugar Ray Robinson

Sugar Ray probably was the best, but he wasn't a lightweight either.

James, Had to go ther didn't you. I know you are well aware of the fact that Duran at lightweight was a hungry/angry fighter. He had great skills and a fire burning deep inside. Then in one of his greatest fights he beats Americas hero Sugar Ray Leonard at welterweight makes a ton of money and lost some of that fire. There have been many great lightweights, none in my opinion could have beat Duran.

No Mark, it was just a reference to Duran that comes up after every mention of his name. I know it is a cliche by now. Duran was a great fighter much in the way that Bill Buckner and Leon Durham were great first basemen that will forever be linked with one moment in their careers.

Eli, I have seen it. Great story about Chuvalo who was one tough guy. Ali went out of his way to give him a shot.
