Has anyone herd of or know of Japanese style arm wrestling? can you explain it and does it have it's place in the sport. Grippler out! I tried to do a search and all I came up with was... MONGOLIAN HALF-NAKED WRESTLING! YIKES! Atilla The Hun, all covered in wrestling oil!

We had a demo of japanese style armwrestling when we were in Japan for the World Championships. They even have belt levels like martial arts.
It was a wood table and no rules for elbows or movement, in fact the key was to move as much as possible to generate as much force as possible. The table also had a beam between armwrestlers on the floor so that you could get a good press with your feet from almost any postion.

A few years back a local gym and radio station had a promotion where 2 man teams competed to see how many cases of pop they could pull 20 yards. The cases of pop were stacked on a wooden palette and they had a climbing style rope attached to the palette. Having grown up on a farm and done a lot of manuel labor I thought my brother and I would do pretty well at this. About 20 teams signed up, most very big guys from various gyms. My brother and I smoked them all! If I remember correctly we had 56 cases loaded when we won.
It was a great workout!
