I understand the thing with the 165 lbs. class being obtainable for 154's and 176's who are able t diet down. The thing with 199+ though is if you are going for 198 and miss weight you are f**ked. Plus there are guys who had to diet a lot to get to 198's who would be giving up very little, if any, weight in a 220 class.
btw, what does IMNTBHO mean?

Come on man. you go to 220 then you are adding in Scott Fleming, Ron Bath, John Brzenk, Marcio, ect to the class.

Like Rob Vigeant, cutting down from like 215, and was it Mike Bowling who was dropping tons of weight, too? Brzenk would be there, yes, but I don't know about Ron Bath, he didn't make the 215 class last year but went 216+ and it's only 5 lbs. difference. Same with Marcio. If they made it they would be cutting like 20 lbs.

Thank you Leonard, there is a huge difference (on a national level) between 198 and 220. I know it is but Gary is thinking seriously about only having 3 classes and if it has to be 3 that seems best in my opinion. If he is going to give out money to the top 8 I definitely see his need to cut one weight class out, and with less weight classes and money given out to 8th place, more people will be in each class. Oh and 176 would probably be perfect for me next year, too, but that's not why I picked it, I mean in 2 years I will probably be heavier, like 190 and will maybe not be able to get that low, and definitely not in 3 years. The idea behind the 165 class is this. #1 if you are 154 then you are giving up only 11 lbs and are probably walking around at 160 anyway. #2 if you are 176 then you only have to lose 11 lbs to make weight. #3 if you are walking around at 185 then you are only giving up 13-15 lbs for the 198 division. So the 165, 198 199+ for 3 divisions makes the most sense. If you start out at 176 then the 154 guys are just giving up too much weight and if you then go to 220 then your most popular class, the 198's then have to give up 20lbs all to make it easier for the smallest class, the 242 division. Nope the best is 165,198,199+ IMNTBHO
