But where were you... so many guys who said they were
coming to pull (or watch) never showed up... was it the
Intrepid entry fee... if it was, everyone should speak out
Gene knows to run it somewhere else next time...
we are not a rich sport...

after all, I think he wants more pullers & a larger audience?




It appears that NY recieved the most points... (Queens, Brooklyn, Bronx, Albany & LI are all part of NY)...

The Prices was a sin $70 for 2 arms and all you get is a framed certificate.That is the last time I will ever compete in that tourney. I have no problem spending the money I just have an adversion to getting ripped off.

Dan... and those who have children (like you), that want to
expose them to the sport, or merely have them there for
support... between all the cazy fees, gas, food, parking
(or ticket, if your accidentally parked in a no parking zone) you will go bankrupt...

No Harry, I had to work. But the grapple is one of my favorite tournaments to attend.

Next year I plan on pulling the 225 class.

16.50 to get into the intrepid

40 to pull and get on the intrepid

which means it cost approx. 23.50 to armwrestle 1 class

if it comes out to that, why was it 30 for your 2nd class

isn't the 2nd class suppose to cost less then the first, not more?

Joey, in Gene's defense, he charges no entry fee for just about every other tournament he holds during the year. You have benefitted from that fact, as have others on this board, myself included. I never had to pay to get into the Intrepid, but if I was asked to I would have.

Dont forget he gets sponsers during the year to run those free tourneys. I think what Geans done for amature armwrestling has been great but with all his news and media connections his events would be so much better if he did not put so much money in his pocket and spent more on the event. I sponserd a event w / Chris M. for $4000 what did the armwrestlers get, the cheapest of all Tshirts that get destroyed when you wash it. Gean said the trophys were $3000 you and I know thats crap. So to back up what Joey said $70 to pull left and right arm is a joke.We need somone to take over NY armwresling at a real pro event.

P.S. the Intrepid does not cost Gean a dime its free to have it there.

I just want to give my two cents, I tried to go to grapple with open mind, but again, I feel disappointed from my observations . Gene does such a great job promoting the sport and making it lively, but the cost is too high, brackets screwy again and I was more scared of a ref's grip than of my opponents. I hope they can make some adjustments for next year if they want people to come back, because it could be more of an awesome tourney.

you are 100% correct great job! and great job by all ;D boy never been to a comp that some one pulls heavy wieght losses there fist match and then gets put in the light weight class taking some one else spot in the brackets Sue you did great waiting to hear your responce on this subject...lol I'll give ya call later once agian great job by all regardless of things being messed up ;D

I usually never write on this board but I just have to comment. WOW!!! I agree with you 100%. I have never seen anything like it. Weight Classes were amazing! Price was thru the roof! Was this triple elimination or double?

They wanted the women to come and fill those expensive weight classes and got nothing but a lot of aggrevation in return. This should never happen to anyone. I know it will never happen to me again.
