With all this talk about about "armwrestling traits", it made me think of Ron Bath and his son, Ryan... I know I was impressed with his technique, as I'm sure many others were as well. It was like watching a mirror image of Ron. It was almost just as fun to watch Ron as Ryan was competing, to see the excitement in his face as well as just proud as heck of his son! That was cool!
My question, just how many veteran armwrestlers, as well as current pullers have "second generation" competitors? I have a few to name and just wondered how many are out there.
1) Mo Baker/Danya Baker 2) Malcom Cisco/Nicole Cisco OH/GA 3) Ron Bath/Ryan Bath GA 4) Charlie Cook/ (and son, can't think of his name right now, sorry!) both pulled at AAA Nationals FL 5) Bobbie Hopkins, sr/ Bobbie Hopkins, Jr. FL 6) Gil Tremblay/ (and daughter, name slips me now!) VT 7) Cleve Dean/ daughter, Teri Dean GA 8) Cliff Hall/ Lisa & Val Hall (NE) 9) Mike & Tammy Beggs/ (and sons, can't recall names)WA 10) Mr. Bagent/ Travis Bagent WV 11) Marcus Hicklin/Kevin Hicklin SC 12) Frank & Karen Bean/ Noelle Bean 13) Willie Reagan/ son, Boomer 14) John Brzenk, sr/John Brzenk, jr
of course, I'm sure there are many "Jr" pullers out there as well... I will start this list and I'm sure many parents out there will add their names to the list. Come on, this will be fun to see!
1) Elaine Blik/Rainee Blik (10 yrs old-pulling since age 4) 2) Dwayne Hanel/Austin Hanel- age 4!- NE

When John B won his first Worlds(175lbs), his dad made top 8 in his division(200lbs) with 90 pullers in the class. Single elim by the way. John was 18. ;D

Hi Elaine,
My son Rémy is only 2 years old but he's already participating to our training session every week.
He's watching us, copying every single move and training on his little table...
I should take a picture, it's so funny !!
Sounds great for the future ?!

Hey you guys! this is really fun to read about! Karen, I knew there were many more out there prior to "my time", I was just hoping someone would list them out. It appears to me that Christ Russakis should get an award for "keeping it in the family"! Also, Jean Daigle and Joyce King!... WOW 3 generations! James, I suppose that learing the "smack talk" is as important at that young age- that's pretty funny! All the kids who are following in their parents' footsteps is just fantastic!I would say that from the youth who participate in our events, 75% of them are second generation pullers... this guarantees a growing sport, I believe.
I need to add: JoeDee Asbury/ Kody Asbury (UT) Kody has developed into a strong force in the heavies, just like his dad. He's a great puller and he's only 20 or 21 now, I believe.

I've got a second generation pulling now. His name is Tyler Shaw and he just turned 15. You can watch him on Arm TV--The Winnemucca video-- He took 3rd in the am 176-198 class. I'm a proud Dad! I can't describe watching my boy pull, it's sooo intense.
