Valerie Beachs' Grandmother was found unconcious at her home yesterday and has been admitted to the hospital . All Val knows is that her Grandmother was severly dehydrated , she has not been informed of any other complications as of yet . Val was on her way to to hospital to be with her Grandmother and hopes to bring her home with-in the next couple of days. Please keep Vals' Grandmother in your prayers . Funny, Matt is on the other side of the country and he knew before us. I wonder?  ? Val, I don't pray, but I will think of her when I pass by a church. |

I spoke to Val today and the news was not good .
Her Grandmother has some sort of blood virus and the doctors have no idea what it is or what caused it .
Val said she was responsive but not in good condition.
The doctors have tried numerous antibiotics and nothing seems to be working .
She told me that her Grandmother was tired and wanted to let go....................................
Val was on her way to the hospital per the doctors request to possibly say the familys goodbyes .
I'm so very sorry Val !
Val could use all our support right now , shes pretty upset . She is very close to her Grandmother.

THANK YOU ALL SO VERY MUCH I can not express enough how much this means to me and my family!! Thank you Matt for doing this you are an incredible man  .....just when I thought I couldn't shed any more tears I am told to go on the board and I find this!  ;D My gram asked me to say how much she appreciates all you prayers and well wishes it means the world to her!! I read to her what was said and she had the same reaction I did. There isn't a person she meets or a place she goes that she doesn't talk about this sport, she LOVES what I do and it makes her so proud to tell people that I am an arm-wrestler! If there is anything to do with the sport she wants to know about it! She has even done one of my radio shows with me! She is now doing better, But gave us one hell of a scare(and still does)! I have been staying at the hospital with her and tending to her needs. She should be able to come home at some point this week and AJ and I will be moving in with her to take care of her. They finally pin pointed that she had a u.t.i that went septic, it started about 2 months ago and when the meds that were prescribed to her didn't take care of it, the doc let her leave with out any further cure or investigation knowing the meds didn't fully work. She also has ecoli as well and to top it off a few other complications. although she is still off and on she has had improvements I just hope she will become stable enough to come home where she wants and needs to be! She is missing my grampa very much I can only wish to have half the bond with some one as the two of them shared! If it was me in her position I don't know how long I could go on with out my partner either and I am very worried about this, but I will never give up on her and only want to see her happy no matter what and am trying my best to care for her in any way I can.....she has given me SO much in life!! I LOVE YOU GRAM also thanks to everyone for the phone calls, emails, and private messages they were much needed and it ment the world to us!! ;D See you all soon! Val PS. Thank you Dan, I am only doing what I think is right and hope for the best!
I just want to be able to bring her home where she belongs.....and the beds and chairs are more comfy to sleep in..lol

wow!! val!! sounds like your grandmother went threw a rough time!! glad to see that she is doing better!! that is awesome that she is so involved with your life and with the sport that we all love. glad to see that you and aj are going to stay with her. its good to hear of a bond that close!! thats funny about the video!! i'm going to have to see that sometime.. hope to see ya at unifieds. christ
