Wow ! A good tournament , regardless of the turnout . I know I witnessed a few of the best in North America , that alone , was worth the trip . Antonia , Mackin , Storie , Johnson , and a couple others made it worth the trip . Even seeing Phipps and Abbott , two great legends/godfathers of the sport in attendance , though not competing . It occurred to me on the way home to Oregon , that because of guys like Abbott and Phipps , and others across the country , the sport has survived . I was there , at the Westin Hotel in Denver , for the Over the Top Tourney in '85 or so . In fact , I came close to being in the movie myself . Anyways , I feel that there are bigger and better things to come . What I'm saying is , I've watched it unfold and I'm seeing a bigger picture due to organization and networking . The Olympics may not be that far out of reach . While I have defined my standing , I came into this tourney, knowing that by simply showing up , I was a winner. By what little training I did , I was actually taking better care of myself . Thats what this , and any other sport , is all about . Oh I love to win , better yet I hate to lose . Nonetheless there are great ATHELETES in this SPORT . I hope all the people that have devoted their time and perhaps life to get Armwrestling the respect it deserves , can continue to UNITE , because that's what it will take to make it all happen . It's a new age in armwrestling , or let's say , the dream is still very much alive . Let us remember the ones who have kept it going , promoters and competitors , of coarse John Breznk , the time has come for more of this unity to flourish . Also Brian Storie is for real ........look out . Well , this old man (me) is three months away from being a Grand Master ? We'll see.... Thanks Scott and all for continuing to carry the torch ....great job
