lightweight wasnt suprised to me.babaev was going to win and it was clear to me.he beat gashevski and silvers in a second.and gashevski beat silvers i guess after two matches.i think the first one ended with foul and second time he got him inside and beat.silvers should have taken third but unfortunately his both loses was against the two best guys. in 95kg category i heard that taras gave a good match to brzenk but brzenk beat him in the strap.i also was told that brzenk had hard matches and got tired in the overall. i still believe that the Dream Team was very succeed by taking the top two places in the 95kg category and taking second and third places in the heavies also in the overall.so it means that under 95kg the best ones are from USA,and in the superheavyweight class 3 of the best four guys are from USA too! i congratulate the Dream Team for this great succes!!! voevoda was the best of the day and i congratulate of his title of being the best of this year.i also think that 60 pounds of a great weight difference between brzenk and voevoda is a great factor of voevoda's winning. i also would like to congratulate babaev for being the best lightweight man in the world without any doubt, and taras for giving a hard time to brzenk at the same weight class. i was told that the Dream Team was very kind and friendly to the armwrestlers from europe even after the event.it proves that they are the best in fairplay too. if any body is comparing the Dream Team with the other countries that have participated in this event, they clearly will see that the best was from Russia but best team was the Dream Team!!!! Dream Team has competed mostly in 95kg and in supers.so when we look at the results of the categories that they competed,we will see that they were clearly the best. 78kg babaev 10 points gashevski 7 points bondaruk 5 points
95kg brzenk 10 points bath 7 points taras 5 points
supers voevoda 10 points bagent 7 points girdner 5 points
overall voevoda 10 points girdner 7 points brzenk 5 points the Dream Team had 41 points in these categories and its a clear victory for the team competetion!!! i also was told that selerais and myers were 5. and 6. place which are very good if you have brzenk, bath and taras in your weight class!!! once again, congratulations to voevoda for being the best of the day,and congratulations to the Dream Team for being the best team!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i just watched more videos at proarm.com and the most amazing things that i have seen are 1-Andreas Rundstrom!!!!!!!!!! 2-Brzenk is winning the match against Taras from that position!!!!!!!!!!! 3-what an amazing power that Alexy has!!!!!!!!!!! i really do not believe that Brzenk is a man of juice but many of them were.im sure that 60 pounds of lower bodyweight and not having too much of extra hormones by needles were his great disadvantages.on my eyes he is and will always be sitting at the top of the world no matter even if he never beats Voevoda. Andreas Rundstrom is an very impressive armwrestler and he has proved that he can be a threat anyone under 200pounds.i remember of myself giving a near 30 seconds of match to Ron Bath at the 2001 harley pull at 70kg and i think Ron was over 100kg.does anyone know what Andreas' weight was?he seemed very dangerous!!! and Alexy,he was too much for anyone.i just cant believe that he got so strong in a few years that he became numberone of today.it seemed to me that Girdner wasnt to far from him if he could have hook him at the middle of the table.what a great event,im so happy that they all finally met.now Americans need to make a great event in USA,and easterns should come and compete!!!!!!!!!!!!

i hope you,Amadeo,my friend will not be upset of me because of answering your e mail by this post.i just want everyone to know my thoughts about your questions. ok,now is my turn.. so how can i say that John will always be sitting at the top of the world?!?!? im sure that everyone that knows little bit about armwrestling and it's history already knows the answer.it would be a great forgetfulness also ungradefulness to say otherwise about this man who has been dominating the world no matter where and in anyweight class in last 20 years!!!!if i start to count the things that he has done in the sport i will have to stay awake till morning to list them.the best way to get answer of your question is that to do a little research about his armwrestling career.i have nothing more to say.im not that materialistic to forget about the things that happened before today.
as far as i know to use juice is illegal and its called cheating more than sacrificing ourselves!!!
Bath did beat Taras in the 95kg class,i dont know if they met in the overall.as far as i saw by the clips Ionescu gave a very good match against Bath but i think it was after Ron had a battle with Taras.
i thank you very much about your nice wishes about myself being back to the game and once again i apoligise about answering you from here. take care of your friendly self and focus of doing better in armwrestling with your winnings than your comments.hope to see you and meet you one day..

does anyone know what Andreas' weight was?he seemed very dangerous!!! Andreas was 83 kg. The funny thing is that he probably trains less than anyone that attended that tournament. Good genetics!!!!!

i just watched the match between Brzenk and Taras in their weight class.Brzenk just crushed him in strap.its so sad that some ppl just showed us the match between them in the overall without explaining which match it was. i was thinking that Taras was at Brzenk's level just because of the match that i watched at proarm.there s a huge difference between them when they are both fresh. John, pound for pound there s no one close to you.im totally sure that just gaining 20 extra pounds with fresh arms you have chance to beat Alexy.i was amazed after seing the match between you and Taras at proarm, but i just watched your match against him at www.armbrytning.se/se/movies_zlotytur2004poland_1000.htm and it was your first match with him.i blame myself for having thought that he was at your level. when are you going to get old enough to have competetion??? there is only one man that has chance to beat you,and that s Alexy.but as you told to someone at zloty''HE S BEATABLE!!!''.and you are the man to do this with your capability, experience and the strength.just 20 more pounds and a fresh arm.it wont be easy but i believe in this.friends,am i the only one that believes in this???

That is exactly what we were talking about in Poland. I know it's possible! The question is why he should do it? He has nothing to prove to anyone.
I think John should do it if he really wants to, and not because everybody else wants it. (This is not directed to anyone in this thread)

Hi Everyone! It’s great to be here. I just logged in at first time. Hi Engin! First I would like to thank you about your kind e-mail. It’s always nice when people notice the work you done. About the match you mention in -95 kg John-Taras I am sorry that I forged/ been too busy to write from what classes our videos been recorded. Just for your info, that before that match you mention, Taras already won against Ron Bath and Michael Selearis. So in other hand Taras was not fresh in he’s first match with John either. Don’t take me wrong I don’t won’t to say they are in same level, but I know Taras Ivankim and he is too very strong armwrestler. It’s just little bit unfair to compare somebody against John Brzenk (living legend) It is big difference been on top twenty years or just year or two. But if we forged the past and just think who is the best right now, then we need to give them some time to repair before some kind of challenge fight example best from the five match in series. And Engin, don’t take this at negative way I don’t mean it that way. Petri

To be perfectly honest with you Engin Taras is a great top roller and he personally can take most of the credit killing any chance of me doing well that day. I can’t explain why, but I struggled right from the beginning…my arm strength was more then fine, but I had a very difficult time finding my hand. My match with Andreas did absolutely nothing for my confidence early on... A match or two later was Taras. I had decided weeks ago to try and grab Taras low and force a hook. This was a disaster. As you can see he flattens my hand, and I struggle to pull with a dead wrist. Once in the straps it felt great…. once I got a hold of him. I don’t typically post pull like Dave Patton, but I had decided for the first match with Alexey that I would try this. I was quite sure my hand strength wasn’t going to be enough for him… from what I had been going through with my lighter matches …and hey this style seemed to work for Travis in Canada, but Alexey’s hand strength crushed me out of position very easily. I attempted to save my arm by having some defense with a hook once he rotated my hand underneath his, but it really was all on my bicep and much to late. Don’t ask me why, but I then tried this same move with Taras the second time in the straps in the overall’s. I couldn’t get myself to protect my own wrist to save my life. Maybe it was all him …but I sure hope not... I need some more matches against him so I can sleep better at night. ;D Once again yes my arm strength seemed fine …I really need to work on my hand again…and some pronation exercises. It really has been a long time that I have had that kind of quick hitting pressure outside. As far as what I need to do to chase Alexey ….10 lbs 20 lbs 30 lbs….? Yes this would help. But mainly I need to get out of the Gym …and back on the arm wrestling table. Will it be enough for Alexey in the future? I’m not sure especially if he keeps pushing the envelope. But right now as I sit here I really want to redeem myself with Taras. Our matches frustrated and upset me more than anything. Right now in my book he is most definitely at my level….until I can prove otherwise. Using Big Matt as a gauge ….Alexey looked very, very strong! Take care.

Thanks for the info John. It is great to hear your perspective. An analysis like that helps me understand the sport better (from a non armwrestler POV) as well as educates me on what goes through armwrestlers minds after a tournament.
