I can't imagine how one could acquire those actual stats.
Just checking the US would be almost impossible. One could check with the organizations t osee who are registered. I know AAA keeps a record of every tournament that is AAA sanctioned. This would have the name of every armwrestler that has pulled a AAA tourney in the past several years.
But these are only sanctioned tournaments and this does not count all the pullers in the Unified or non sanctioned tournaments, or those who dont pull tourneaments.
Im thinking for ya...chris

Val stop it, I was kidding.
I would say there are probably about 100 in this country that pull actively. Sure there are more women that enter but not all of them are active participants. I don't really have a feel for how many women participate internationally. Those #s would be tough to come by, but I am sure some our international brothren (and sisteran :/) would have a better guess.

That would be hard to put a number on Valerie. But one thing I do know is that the Womens division is getting more competitive every year. I know here in Ohio, we are getting more women pulling now than we ever have. I am sure you will see new faces this year at the Unifides. So, don't slack off on your training!!

I think that she means in general. The USAA has 628 on its active mailing list. There is in my estimation over 2000 in the United States. ;D

Hi,
In Switzerland, we had in 2003 17 girls in the pro tour. In 2004, 18 girls in the pro tour. In 2005, probably more than 30.
It's growing !!
This is without counting the amateurs and novices.
These numbers could seem small for you but considering that Switzerland count only 3 million women... it's hard to compare it with USA.
For statistic, we have 10 female pro armwrestler for 1 million people.
Could you make the same calculations for USA ??
Catherine

In Sweden we have about 60-70 girls/woman (youths, senior and masters) pulling, but not all of them are competing on big competitions. In the Russian countries it´s A LOT!!! I would guess that in the world it will be around 1000-1300 female armwrestlers in the world? My guess!!!
