i agree with Jim about John is too humble.probably he doesnt remember the things that he has done in last 20 years.what more should you have done in the sport to say that you would have won against those names in their prime times.yes you have lost to goodrich in 94 yukon jack, but Ron Bath once told me that you werent heavy enough on that day and also he said you didnt feel good either.even on that day he very hardly beat you.all of those names were-are much heavier than you,but in your prime time you would have won and im sure about it.
think about those names, they all have been great for a short time.some met you when your very beginning years(norton),some met you when you werent heavy enough(goodrich-voevoda),some met you(alan karaev)when you already have pulled another tournament day before you pulled him.you beat lupkas, and goodrich, lost to norton when you werent at your prime, lost to karaev when you pulled a tourney day before, lost to Alexy when your hand didnt feel good and also he was 60pounds heavier than you.Taras is 40 pounds heavier than me,and there is no way that i can touch him.im sure that you will give to Voevoda a better pull at next time.
you have been winning for 20 years, because you are not a monster, but a great armwrestler or hunter who has been hunting those monsters:).

Jim,armwrestlers who win with only strength ,dont have a long time at the top of the sport.there are certain athletes who can win even when they dont feel good, when they arent well trained or when they are partly injured.because they are smart, fast, very experienced to win their matchs.
i wont write the names of the monsters who has been at the top for a short time because of their strength only. But i wanna write the names of the masters who have won for many years no matter what.Brzenk,Cobra,Cvetan Gashevski,Bath,Tullier,Patton,Whitfield,Walker(how old was he when he won yukon jack 94?),Fischer,Lasorsa,Crazy George and many more to list.

very well said Engin. You are right. And along those lines, I was challenged to fight over a armwrestling match once. People dont respect winners who act that way. You can beat someone and still remain a sportsman, like MR. Brzenk.

You all inspired me. I went out and rented the film and watched it through a few times, then came back online and re-read all these posts. Some amazing stuff going on here. My motivation is running quite high now, and just in time for a practice coming up soon.
Now I'd really like to see a video of the real tournament.

I have part of John and Zumwalts match on tape. Well I guess I should say the yelling etc by Zumwalt, my battery died before the match got started, if I remember correctly. May even have Zumwalt throwing the punch!
