I think it's telling that Bill Cox has approved more new board members in the two weeks since the Game of Arms premiere than he had in the previous two and a half months!

Yes, you need a passport. Why don't you get one?

If a puller is ranked with both arms, I counted this him/her as "one puller".

Here's another map showing the number of ranked pullers in each state (based on the current In the Hook rankings). Florida and California have the most ranked pullers (9 each), while Indiana has 8.

I don't have a top 10 list at the moment, but California, Florida, and Tennessee were the states that held the most events. I think 11 or 12 each.

John, not yet, but I probably will. Though everyone already knows Ontario is the place to be.

If you were to move, and wanted to live somehwere where tournaments were regularly held, where would be the best place to go? Just for fun, I created a map that shows how many armwrestling tournaments were held in each state in 2013. These counts are derived from the tournament results section of the Northeast Board, so they are not 100% accurate. But the map does give a sense of where most tournaments are held.

The 2004 Unified Nationals were broadcast several times on ESPN, but it appears it was a one time deal.
The Mohegan Sun PAC World Championships were also broadcast a few years later.

Arm Wrestling International (AWI) events were regularly broadcast on ESPN throughout the '80s and '90s. Almost all of these featured a pro sports division. Most often it was an NFL football players division, but MLB baseball players, and even NHL hockey players and NBA basketball players took part at one time or another in the '80s. In addition to the pro sports division, there was a professional armwrestling division -- but usually only one or two classes were offered in any one event. The light-heavyweight class (up to 210 lbs) was the class that was probably most often featured. It was won many times by John Brzenk, Johnny Walker, and Clay Rosencrans. As far as I know, the last AWI event was held in 2001. It would assume that nowadays athletes involved in the big four professional sports would not be allowed to compete in armwrestling tournaments, for fear of injuries. You can find more info on the AWI events here: armwrestlersonly.blogspot.co.uk/2013/08/arm-wrestling-international-awi.html

Iowa - No Hawaii - No
The only state for which I can't find a record of a State Championship being held is Mississippi. If someone knows of one having been held, please let me know!

Sit-down matches have been traditionally taken longer to finish than stand-up matches. Was this the trend in today's event?

Denis Cyplenkov has been, and still is, considered by many as the best left-handed puller on the planet. However, going by rankings protocols, he has not yet earned the top spot by either beating the #1 ranked guy or by winning an event in which the #1 guy was competing.
In late 2009, Engin moved Denis into the top spot in the World Rankings. Denis really did seem to be the top guy at that point in time, but he hadn't beaten Travis yet, and Travis hadn't lost an event.
