Mike, this has nothing to do with that.
Susan Fischer is the Tournament Director for the winter blast which is a local IAF tournament.
This is an USArmwrestling sanctioned event of which is based out of Billings, Montana, we don't get a lot of these on the east coast. Atlantic City, NJ on Memorial Day is the only other one in the Philadelphia area.
I am happy that Denise is trying to have more events in the Northeast and especially the Philadelphia region.
Mike, you should come, you will not be disappointed you may even be amazed.

John, I try to make whatever I can.
Todd, I didn't have anything for him. Only his training partner gave him a decent match in the finals.
I assume the results will get posted on the Heartland site. Once I see them up there I will transfer them to here.

Jason,
There are a lot of such tournaments unfortuntaely they are just not on the eastern side of the country. I didn't see it until moving out here.
IMO, New Mexico, Denver, CO, Idaho States, and Heartland Armwrestling (mostly Iowa and Nebraska) have some of the best tournaments with different age groups like that in the country and get a pretty good number of entries.
My suggestion would be to talk to some of the promoters in your area and see they would consider it a local event. In terms of time, it usually only takes an extra hour to run the kids portion even if there are a good number of entries.
In terms of age vs. weight. Age is the way to go.
If you have an exceptionally bigger kid for his age or someone that everyone knows is "better" than the TD will "encourage" that guy to pull up in the older guys class.

Anyone from here is welcome to come with me...I'll be making lots of calls today trying to get a crew together...but usually a lot of people around here have lots of "stuff" to do on Saturday's and won't take a full day for a small tournament so I'm not making any promises.
I'll give him all I got for sure in the 231's at least. Anyways it should be a good tournament even if the turnout isn't huge.

I posted information for the RK's Challenge this Sat. 10/25/08 in the upcoming tournaments section since it was recently advertised at ROTN and on the Heartland site but not on here.
This is near Lincoln and Omaha, NE. Not to far from Western Iowa and Eastern South Dakota as well.

I thought I was coming to this, but I'm still not 100% after my experience in KC..those of you that know about it understand. Hopefully, I make it out to CA soon for a tourney. It's a shame I was really looking forward to this one.

Thanks Gary and Don...
Only 3 criticisms I had about the event as far as feedback:
1)I don't have an estimate as to how many spectators paid the $10 door fee for the finals, but I think that cover charge hurt spectator attendance and also business for the bar that they would have had otherwise. Maybe next year as an alternative allocate $10 from each one of the entry fees to cover what that was supposed to go towards.
2)I feel as though the medal classes were a little too rushed. Many of the pullers here did multiple classes and were not offered any rest at al sometimes between matches. Many pullers literally had to pull consecutive matches. The medal classes started at 12:30 should have started at noon as originally planned and the classes jumped around a bit to give some of those multiple class pullers a break.
3)I feel some of the 176 crowd might have been lost due to the weight jump form 65 to 98.
Other than that everything was great, the production, the bracketing, the venue was awesome, good officials, great competition and a great after party.

First of all, I cannot thank Ryan Constatino, Rob Vigeant Jr. Josh Handeland, Yosef , John Grant and Ashley enough for their support in this situation, without knowing I could trust you all 100% I would have definately broke down or else did something stupid.
I'm sure that through this our friendships will grow even stronger through this and this just proves that all of us are truly a "family"
Denise, Gary, Coley, Ryan, Rob thanks for following up with me tonight. Everything looks ok, I'm going to do some following up to see if KC police did anything within the next few days, doubtful but worth a phone call anyway.
But with that being said...if you are not one of the people listed above or you did not speak to me personally over the phone today...please let it go...I don't want anymore on the board about this.
Thanks all.
