It was the same way last year, very little chatter. Yet, it was a pretty good competition. I know several that we practice with and a few others that will or most likely be there.

I feel like nationals has lost it's prestige, there should be one single national competition for the USA (I'm sure that many others feel the same) i know it comes down to alot of things for it to happen like money and stuff IMO every state should have an official state championship tournament, the top 2,3 or whatever it may be in each weight class would qualify to go to nationals, I feel this way it would make it super competitive, not that it isn't competitive now cause there are some incredibly powerful pullers in this country, but I feel that it would be more organized and it would feel like that your actually fighting for something, nationals should be a prestigious competition that you have to fight for to get there, and the thought about representing team USA at the worlds would be such an honor (at least for me it would) I don't think there is a better feeling than representing your country, I grew up a soccer player first and I always wanted to represent team USA in the World Cup, I was very close to becoming a pro soccer player, I gave up on that though but I feel that Armwrestling has gave me a second chance, so I'm working very hard to get that chance to be on team USA one day. Awesome

Choosing to run your own state championship when there is already an established state championship running is outright disrespectful and just adds another diluted title to our sport. I guess it just fits into the path our sport is headed... 3 Nationals, steroids, men entering women's classes, loud mouthed amatuers getting "supermatches", pro armwrestlers hanging off their competitor's arm below the table for 6 minutes, the ghost town that is female armwrestling in the US... SMH "WORD"

I didnt think those moves were stupid looking. I personally thought Mr. Todds move was Shocking! Thats just a crazy position and i feel like it takes alot of skill to use that move and not get hurt. Is there many arm wrestlers who use this exact move? I feel so old school cause i can only somewhat hook. lol Old school hook- great aw'ing. This is not

^^^^^^^^ is that manuever called a bone lock? Is that good or bad for your ligaments and bones? I just feel it cant be good after time. Seems very scary to know that he could be walking into a tournament with stress fractures and not even know it. Dude, stick to your hook, maybe even start dabbling with different top roll techniques. But please do yourself a favor and stay away from the "Bone Lock" technique. This is not good for you nor good looking. Besides theres not to many training vids on this type of pulling- not that i would watch them anyway.

That is the ugliest display of armwrestling that i have ever seen. If thats the best that you have then quit or change your style and pull like a man- STANDING UP!. A man big as yourself should have no need for these bullcrap methods. This is definitely not what i would want the non aw community to think of our sport or a new comer to think that this is aw.

Jmo 1 the refs in stand up already getting in the way, in this they are the only ones standing so I can't imagine being a spectator. 2 probably due to the long matches but I saw what seemed to be like an abundance of terrible positions, also it looks like your pretty much forced to use shoulder to get the last 4 inches to a pin, this type of pulling I would think to be more dangerous 3 a few matches of these and I am Ready to see what's on lifetime joking But seriously if we think awing is not a spectator sport standing up it surely could never be sitting down. Again jmo, congrats to the winners i mean no offense, just not for me. David , have you ever pulled sitdowns? If not you may feel a little different about your assessments especially no. two. In sit down pulling the armwrestler typically doesn't or can't rotate their torso as much- therefore putting less spiral tension on the arm. From what i've seen, it is a better way to train for overall armwrestling strength and also much safer.
