Josh i dont quite get what that had to do with Petes Post abolish rankings? At least for me I have two young kids for my age , My bills with food are currently Over $ 4200 Plus per month, was even more but we had to move this year. The past year has been hell since I lost a business. The pressure got to me I quit armwrestling and training for 10 Months until around Christmas started back because I love the sport and 99.9% the people in it and said we will get through this. But Still each Month is like a puzzle to put together to find a way through. I dont go to bars or smoke, But Im hoping to be able to fly to one tournament this year. cant do much more than with out making the family suffer. On the bright side I feel after the past year things are turning up. As i write this I think I see your point , But id do think ranking is fun , gives people a chance to look forward too something. Most likely if your 10 th in the Northeast you wouldnt get noticed at a nationals or place . so i think its good thing

I wasn't including Rob because he is moving. What I was doing was asking those that are making accusations to just name who it is that they are referring to and name the names. I will give names for every class if that is what you guys want.

This is something that was discussed among a few people at this weekends CT tournament. It was mentioned that there should be a tournament held to settle and determine the "actual" N.E. rankings for all the weight classes. It was said that the people that are responsible for keeping the rankings updated and determined should get together and work on this idea. It is also thought that it would be the best way to determine the fairest start of the top 10 in each class. Rules would be pretty simple, you show, you pull, where you finish in the top ten is where you are ranked for the beginning of the list. If you do not show and compete you do not get ranked. It is pretty straight forward. It seems that the best place to hold this type of tournament would be some where in CT. It is pretty central for all the N.E. states. The rankings would then be modified as they are now after tournaments. In theory it would make a "true" list of the top ten in each class. Some people feel it shouldn't be determined by past accomplishments or the prospect that puller A could still beat puller G just because he did last year. We all know that life gets in the way and we are not all able to make every event every month. That will be, as always, taken in to consideration. I really think that this should be taken seriously and strongly considered to try and keep things fair. How do others think/feel? i have no dog in this hunt but I will tell you that having a tournament like that will not necessarily mean that the #1, 2 or 3 is correct. Who you draw and when does play a part in the placements. Except when you have someone so dominate that it doesn't matter and then everyone knows he or she is #1 anyway.

i would really have to agree with you Leonard! it really does matter who u draw, if you have 2 of the top guys going up first and they have a really long match cuz they are evenly matched in style and strength , things can change quickly for the next 1, that it unless the person on top is so dominating it doesnt matter

I think we should do the same as the Triple crown......Choose 4 tournaments and base the rankings on these 4 tournaments after all 4 are over and done with...kind of like a once a year ranking so everyone has something to shoot for.....JMO
My suggestion for the 4 would be.....CT States....Can-ams........Fall Classic......New England Championships.

I agree Chris and Its understandable if you cant make them all But if theres 5 , Make it to 3 of them also you cant discount pulls from other tournaments should people pull inside the rankings Like the black bear , PA VT NH or Nationals. Example Bill sinks Beats Mike Selearus somewhere else , it has to have weight when doing it

I am starting to think that I opened a can of worms that I didn't mean to. I can agree with doing some sort of list of 5 or so tournaments that would decide the rankings. Keep them updated after each tournament? Maybe add some sort of incentive like the IAF does with it's points title but do it for each class?

It would be nice to perhaps have a tournament listed in the 4 or 5 that Is not in CT. It would be nice to have one of sue fisher tournaments listed and Jim Bryan is having a tournament this may so maybe that could one of them.

You could try and stretch one out of the middle but you wont get people from the opposite ends to come, thats why the middle is better. But you cant discount the matches in any tournament whether PA or NJ or Maine
