Hi Guys & Evening Don.....hows it hangin son
I need to get back to ya on yer post about same guys in ARM WARS & the event needing to be Don'ed up some
;D
But firstly on the message around Lupkes and the win over John making him the number one in the World right now
OK extremely hard one to answer and undoubtedly Rick Lupkes would have a shot at being THE best Superheavy out there right now but I honestly don't believe that the win over John at Arnolds could be utilized to afford him or any other puller that accolade as it is a MUTI-DAY, main draw format..........basically that makes it like the Paris Dakar Rally in terms of the fact that all kinds of variables can come into play under this format to ensure an athletes victory.
Personally I am not as close to the US circuit as many of you guys may be BUT I am........I believe.........arguably one of THE most qualified individuals to comment on this topic as........
I was at The Arnolds & spend a tremendous amount of time with and around John.
I was at ALL of the major events where the European BIG GUNS hve thrown down recently, ie. Wolds PAL events and Nemiroff World Cup. USUALLY if not ALWAYS absolutely as close to the action on the tables as it was possible to get without being one of the athletes myself.
I was with John at the end of April in London and had a tremendous amount of insight from THE MAN personally about where HE FEELS he is right now and who HE considers to be the men most likely out there right now.
Then I was once again a Dwarf's Dart away from the table this weekend when Devon & Travis locked it up. I am not going to discuss the feelings and thoughts of others as if they want anyone to know what they feel on the topic then no doubt they will come on here and voice it or speak to those they feel should know privately so this is just my personal opinion.
I feel that the fully fit and healthy Devon Larratt which competed in Manchester this weekend may very well be THE BEST right handed Super Heavyweight Armwrestler in the World right now as at May 27th 2008. He would certainly be an EXTREMELY difficult man to beat for anyone in the World currently and brings a very well rounded and cerebral game to the table.
I 100% agree with The Angry Turk that John IS, HAS BEEN.........& PROBABLY WILL ALWAYS BE.......THE BEST OF ALL TIME !!! but I am sure that John would be the first to admit that as it stands today with a damaged wrist and at around 215lbs. Devon would be a very big ask even for him......as I am sure would be the verbose Mr. T Bagent.......who is a friggin long drive in a very fast car from a Bum ;D
Travis has recently been a dominant force in North America with wins over everyone EXCEPT John including Rick Lupkes and is a very VERY good Armwrestler, who is even harder to defeat because of his, frustrating but nevertheless, lethally effective table smarts and global mind f*ck strategies
;D
Travis was however in DEEP WATER by the middle rounds of his Right Handed match here this weekend and whilst he may well have been able to tilt a result in a main draw event against Devon........over Six rounds in the Pro format it was clear early on that Devon was likely to be the winner on the right as Travis was having to run every round and was taking damage to his wrist which may not yet be 100% healthy.
I would actually be prepared to bet on Devon against anyone out there currently over Six rounds especially considering he now has time to sharpen his game and get much needed table time in...... which he has been lacking recently.
THE MAN IS FOR REAL GENTS..............BELIEVE ME !!!
OR EVEN DOUBT ME BET ME & I WILL GLADLY TAKE YOUR MONEY
;D ;D ;D
Joking aside though particularly over 6 rounds.....he really is a very difficult proposition for anybody in the World at the moment and after what I saw this weekend.......I would expect him to win over Six against John, Andre, Pushkar, Farid or Lupkes at the moment. Though I am sure they would be hard fought victories.
Devon's exceptional well roundedness and FREAKISH ENDURANCE is a MAJOR influence on my personal opinions.
Looking forward to seeing the individual who I am EXTREMELY PROUD to have as one of the reigning ARM WARS Champions tested against other Super Heavyweight forces as time rolls forward BUT I WOULD STRONGLY ADVISE ANYONE WANTING A PIECE OF THAT PARTICULAR CANADIAN OVER SIX ROUNDS TO COME VERY READY !!!
THATS ONE BAD, ARM LASTING ALL NIGHT MUTHA FLUFFA ;D
;D
Cheers
Neil
