So I got my first table today from Frank "The PREZ" Hirst and I was impressed by the fact that he showed up in a MONSTER TRUCK!!
Yes a MONSTER TRUCK!!...This thing was awesome. I've never seen a truck like that before.(I'm a city boy, so I'm delicate) I'm not even man enough to climb into this thing but his whole family jumps in and out of it like it was nothing.
And....I hate having tiny girl hands because Frank "The PREZ" Hirst reminded me of my small hands. Shake his hand and you'll see.
Anyways....I got home and set the table up and got to work on the rubber bands. At the "set up" I feel the pressure of a normal match but once I pull down it gets easier.
Is their any way to correct this? Maybe I'm pulling to low?
I'm wrapping the bands to the opposite peg and pulling.
I'm using 2 tire tubes folded in half so that's like 4 tubes. (The tubes I'm using are the thinnest tubes there are...the ones used in the racing bikes etc etc)
Should I forget the "Hooking" and try to "Post" when I use rubber bands?
Any help would be appreciated.

There are different ways to use tubes. Posting you wont really get anything out of them. You can use them to work rotation,back pressure or side pressure. I would suggest getting smaller tubes like 12" kids tire tubes. This way you get a real good resitance. You can pull straight side or straight back depending on where you place the tube on the table. Hope this helps.

Phil, Where you get the most pressure at all depends on where you have the bands anchored at. If it's anchored anywhere on the table you'll feel a loss of pressure once you get into a "winning" position. When I'm training my right hand i'll have my bands wrapped around the table leg on the oppenents side to the right because it seems to best simulate the direction your opponent will be pulling you to. But that really only helps when i'm coming back from a losing position, to get peak pressure in winning positions i've had to push my table against a wall and anchor the bands on the wall above the table. And when i'm trying to practice finishing I'll even have them wrapped around a beam on the roof (this is in a shed). I had to tie a few innertubes together to do that. Basically I'll change where i have my bands tied to depending on what i'm wanting to work, i have yet to find an anchor point that gives me consistent pressure throughout the entire motion from pinpad to pinpad.

Phil also you can get a 2inch wide piece of PVC pipe that is about the width of your palm in length. Then cut the pvc down the middle on one side only to make a split in it large enough to get your tube or bands in through so it forms a handle of sorts. This will keep your hand and fingers partially opened like you are pulling someone and get you used to that feeling. I then tape the whole thing with duct tape for alittle padding and use a towel if I have to on inside movements. works great man!

I've been grabbing it with a closed fist but I see what you mean. Thanks for the advice. I know a Plumber who can set me up with a small piece of PVC. Looks like Phil Bauer is learning how to Pull. It's a bad day for all his enemies.

It's a bad day for all his enemies. Maybe in a year or two, but not any time soon. It takes time to strengthen tendons and bones.

I only pull pro left because normaly there's not a left hand novice class. I don't hide from anyone, or any thing. I pull novice because I haven't goten first place yet.

I use a 5 times stronger than normal 26" bike tube that I purchased at a sporting goods store It has a lifetime warranty on it. It is extremely thick and has tons of resistance. It cost around $12.00 where as your others are around 4 to 5 bucks. If you can pin 2 of them together stretched way out, I don't want to Pull with you.
