The show was great to an almost packed house. Definitely worth seeing. There was a Q&A session with John afterwards and there was quite a few questions from people who knew nothing about armwrestling. I think it was a hit with everyone in the croud. A lot of laughing and clapping.

Movie was GREAT!!! Best part was seeing a non-armwrestling audiences reaction to the film...The crowd cheered when Travis got beat...lol...
The film was done so you get to know John,Alexy, & Travis so people who don't follow the sport have a chance to cheer for their own hero by the time they all meet at the end for title of #1 Armwrestler in the WORLD
I have seen the footage of the matches used in the film many many times so I knew the outcomes...but I still found myself on the edge of my seat waiting for the pin...lol
The film will not be available on video or DVD for a while, as this is the first of hopefully many film festivals...followed by even more promotion to get the film picked up...
Personally after all the hype on this board I fully expexted there to be a MUCH better turn out of armwrestlers...@ a dozen made the trip...

Pulling John.
I walk in. red carpet. giant screen. professional. the real deal. line of film fans. reporters. producers. directors. widest arrange of people outside of any sports world...about to sitdown and watch a movie on armwrestling. crowd files in picks their seat. people were not sure what they were about to witness...they didn't know a thing about john brzenk. lights go down. movie rolls. a schoom schoom sound as the credits...directed by/ produced by....THE MOVIE BEGINS.
there were many moments where the audience cheered and laughed. people who had never heard of the sport were getting into this. it was amazing to experience. There were out right moments of complete audience clapping. Movie ends, john brzenk introduced. question and answers. One of the questions...do you have distribution yet? Morgan Spurlock of SuperSize Me immediately approaches John Brzenk..THAT WAS AWESOME..I NEVER KNEW.
A passerby whispers into Sevan Matossians' ear...this will win best film of the festival. A woman coming out "John Brzenk is my hero"
Another Festival reporter..."I am fifty two years old and I was getting into that...I would have never thought"
Many people approached me..." whats the website?" I want to know more.
It was an experience that can never be taken away. Watching it on DVD someday for someone you will be rewarding...but it won't be like this. What happened today was special. I just wish there was more of you there to experience it.
This was the real deal. I don't know what will come of this, but many people who know much more than I do about distribution process say. There is something here.
Good night.

Did they play the complete movie, or just a trailer?

Some of us from Minnesota are hoping to go see it on Friday, after the toproll tournament, Gary do you think it will be sold out or do you think we will be able to get in? We will be getting the $10 tickets just for that movie only, and don't want to drive all the way to Texas if we're not going to be able to get in.

It was the real deal! THE MOVIE "PULLING JOHN" what so many of us have been waiting for so long. I was shocked that more members of armwrestling were not there. But, I guess this was for lack of better terminology a" tournament" of movies. And "Pulling John" nailed the (go) today at the festival! I hope that it takes best of show! There was a buzz on the streets of Austin tonight! Pulling John is definitely one to see. With all that has already been said... IT WAS EXCITING! and FUN! I am glad i was there. The standing ovation for John as he was introduced speaks volumes, to the crowds reaction to the movie! The after party was well attended, and I feel that all really had a great time interacting with the public! We are headed back to Arkansas now! What an experience!!! Nancy
P.S. will post some pics later( can't reach the cord!) P.S.S. The states who showed to support, Texas, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Louisiana way to go Mid South!!!

Good question! We had to wait for all the press and passes to be seated first, before they would even start selling tickets to the rest of us. From what i understand the next showings will be in smaller places. So, i would call to make sure.~nan
