Has anyone heard of this?? Who is in charge of it??? What does anyone think of this? Instead of gripping hands with your opponent, you grab a metal arm that is routed to the opposite side of the table where your opponent is and you both are pulling on the metal arm. They said "it eliminates cheating".

Yes, it has been around in various forms, machines and organizations for years. There is an old thread about it that a number of people contributed to. Do a search and you should find it. Good luck.

By "eliminate cheating" they mean eliminate technique. It looks like it's all side pressure to me. I'd rather do real armwrestling.

Just a note, I too much prefer regulaur armwrestling but it was started over 15 years ago and it just nevcer took roots and it did not eliminate cheating it just required less technique and if your arm fit the device then you had the advantage. I do not like it and of course most armwrestlers must agree with me as it never amounted to anything. But on another note I also say to each his own.

Wasn't this going around as "Monster Armwrestling" about ten years ago? It was a set of bicycle pedals basically.

This was Monster Armwrestling! It was in Ohio in the 1980's. And you are right, Cleve, it never amounted to anything!! It was still fun to do though.

It does look like him but i dont think norm devio would waste his time doing this. eliminate ''cheating'' is what people who dont armwrestle say about armwrestling. which is stupid.

At least it put arm wrestling out there, the more publicity the better!!! Get people interested and they will look it up. It doesn't look like you can get injured very easily because what I saw was that you only have to go about half way to your side to win. A lot of the people I talk to that have never heard of the actual sport only know about some video on you tube that show some guy shattering his arm.
