Who would you say is the most improved armwrestler in the last 1-2 years?
I'm kind of looking for a good example of someone who just hit the weights and practice, but wasn't necessarily blessed with incredible genetics.

I dont know about Dave, no disrespect to him but he came out of the gate and pulled very well. He has progressed very well. I would say Justin Kopa.

I would have to say Dave Chaffee! He has only been pulling a few years and this man is a beast! Justin Kopa is another one that should top the list. Justin is pulling great!

dave chaffee is awesome......but he has always been good. ryan clark is doing well also....but in all respect...........this harley 198 was missing alot of top players and fairly weak.......sorry justin kopa is a definite candidate. steve shoemaker.......nobody wants to mention him but he out muscled arguably the strongest guy in the class at the harley .............very underrated and very strong. brent rakers is another........2 years ago he was ok...now he is a big threat. scott ballinger............animal........I don't need to say much.....he is a beast. Luke kindt.......he is impressive as well. maybe john shaw....he has come along. these are the people that I have seen competing for a while and now busting out into the placings.

Corey Miller compared to 4 yrs ago he has improved his game in every aspect.....
Steve Shoemaker impressed me the most at Harley.

But 1.5 years ago, Corey beat Allen Fisher, and the thread says in the last 1-2 years... has he improved the most in the past 1-2 years?
I think that Ethan Fritsche has gotten waaaaaaayyy better in the last 2 years!

I don't know many armwrestlers, but I would definitely agree with Scott Ballinger. Everyone was pretty surprised by how much stronger he had gotten in the one year, actually 9 months between the Kentucky tournaments.

For sure Scott Ballinger and Ethan Fritsche. Scott impressed the hell outta me at the Harley Pull, beating Sonny Larson and giving Razor a good match. Compare that to how he did at the ROTN, I can't remember who beat him but I'm pretty sure he didn't do so well.

I was always decent but nowhere near the level that i am right now. it has taken a lot of work to make the improvement that i have made in even just the past year. My first tourney was at the end of 06 and two months later in my second tourney i broke my arm. So knowing i couldnt pull for a year right handed, i started training my left. Also in my time off from pulling right handed i changed my entire gym workouts. I always spent a ton of time in the gym but the workouts i did did not help me with arm wrestling .. So I switched everything and started working hand, wrist and forearm mainly, along with alot of bis tris and back..not conventional bis and back either, i get a lot of looks from people asking what the hell im doing that for and i have to go into the whole armwrestling schpiel each time.. Alot of people say just armwrestle to get better which i do alot of that but i wouldnt be where im at if i hadnt of changed my gym workout geared toward armwrestling . I was able to pull right handed in february and my first tourney back was march 08.. at that time I couldnt budge one of my training partners tom taylor.. I set a goal for myslelf to beat him in 2 years, well i was able to beat him in practice a little over 6 months and beat him in a tourney last october, ( Wagner you still owe me lunch at mcdonalds from that bet) So now i continue to set short term and long term goals for myself which keeps me motivated. Also the fact that i absolutely hate to lose is motivation enough
