If I get directly yelled at it does tick me off....but.... It also fires me up. I always try to remember that this is a one on one sport where I am trying to be better at everything then my opponent, so of course its personal. If its personal then its emotional. We've all dealt with pain, loses and desire so I personally have no problem with someone celebrating after their win, even though It gives me that...."yeah laugh it up bud..... go ahead get it all out.... OK seriously!!!" thought. lol
I have come to realize that when I beat someone that I have had my eye on I get fired up. I am a yeller for sure. But I have always found them later and expressed my respect and if I feel like I went overboard a little I will apologize. To me that is the sportsmanship aspect of our great sport. If someone beats me and gets all fired up then (aside from the thought expressed earlier) it kind of makes me feel like it was a "big" win for them, which boosts my confidence all the more.... Maybe that's just my constant attempt to find a positive in the negatives though...
On a side note it sure gets the crowd in to it...... weather they are pleased or not, they are paying attention!!! Nothing gets me more involved then to watch an emotionally charged fight where both opponents are wide open and ready to unload. Like John and Travis at KC Arm Wars a few years ago!!! I will never forget John screaming and hollering after beating Travis. It was.... to steal from Neil Pickup.... ELECTRIFYING!!!
