This is about as close to armwrestling as Rolling Thunder is to a deadlift...kind of like calling Coors Light a beer. It's not real armwrestling but it looks like it could be fun. I bet guys with some above average side pressure would clean up at one of these competitions.

In Oct. 1984 I walked into a bar in Tucker Ga. A monster armwrestling tournament was being held. I was too late to enter. Johnny Walker and Bert whitfield were there and that is where I got started. Bert invited me to his tournament 2 weeks later and that got me started. I did compete in a monster tournament later. It definetly took the hand out of the equation. If u were. quick it helped alot. Broke arms were a big problem. If u got in a bad position it was very hard to get out of it.

That machine scares me. No good can come of that. The nickel reference is about the 'never been beat' guy. It's why I don't even bring up armwrestling to non-armwrestlers. No matter where you go in this this world, as soon as armwrestling comes up the guy you're talking to has this friend who has never ever been beat. He's known and feared throughout the county. He beats everyone on the hood of his pickup truck. He darn near threw Earl Jr. acrost th' hood, and Earl Jr. is a star football player at Skeeter High! He bench presses all the weights the gym has at school. If you look closely at some tournaments, once in a while you'll spot this elusive champion. He'll be the one with his butt poked out two feet from the table. Sometimes he will even go to another event, this time he'll have learned to jam his foot up and sideways against the table leg. LOL...Now that is funny because it couldn't be anymore true. Not to mention everyone seems to have their own set of rules...and when they can't move your arm, it is funny how quickly the rules they came up with amend themselves. This is also why I don't bring up armwrestling to people I don't know. When my friends explain to people who I am they either just nod their head and say "cool" because they aren't picturing armwrestling as it really is or if they are interested I usually end up telling them that I don't know what they are talking about and that I suck at armwrestling.
