Watching a human being run 200 meters in 19.19 seconds is mind boggling. Then if you consider he is 6"5 its even more incredible! 100 meters in 9.58 also pretty damn fast. I think they need to see if he can catch a football and throw a helmet on him. preferably a raiders helmet though! One fast mofo.

We might be seeing a guy who never gets rivalled seriously for the rest of our lives. Think Carl Lewis, but instead of being untouched for 20 years he might never be touched. This guy is still a kid. He's got years ahead of him.
It is mind blowing.

(You're already running full speed when you hit the 100m mark whereas in the 100m sprint you have to get out of the blocks and up to speed.) What blows my mind about this guy is his 100m time. He is genetically built for 200m and 400m. Hell, his body is designed for hurdles and high jumps! But he's WAAAY too tall to be running times like that in the 100m. Most 100m guys are 5'9" and built like fire hydrants. 6'5" is a LOT of body to unfold out of the blocks and get up to speed in 100m. He really does work harder than anyone else and you can tell because in the 100m he comes out of the blocks in the middle of the pack and it takes him about 20m to get to top speed. Remember that runners on this level are still accelerating when they cross the line at 100m, so he's beating every sprinter in the world with only 80m of track left to do it!! I still say he'll get better. I'd say in a year or two his coaches will find two or three tenths worth of time just by getting his start better from the blocks, so long as that giraffe doesn't blow his knees out in the process.

Not true John you hit your peak speed at about 60m scientific fact. Supposedly it's physically impossible to keep accelerating after a certain distance because your body just won't do it? I did some reading up what is the fastest time a human could possibly run after he won the olympics. I agree with everything else though this guy amazes me I wish I could run that fast.

Michael Johnson was explaining that Bolts length of stride and the rate at which he turns his feet over-whatever that means.....is the main reason for his speed. To be in the front row and watch this cat run by would of been priceless though. big track and field fan here.

His biggest problem will be staying in the box until he gets the wand! He will likely be the fastest anchor leg in the world, too. His starts suck, so he can't be first, and his lanky frame is not built for turns. But anchor... good gosh that dude could do some incredible things. They better get him on the relay team fast. His ego might not stand for being a cog in a machine if he keeps setting world records every time he runs solo.

He's the best in the World( obviously) running the turn, as indicated by his 200m time. They are speculating he ran a 7.8 or 7.9 in his leg, but because of the passing zone factor, it doesn't mean anything other than what we already know.............................................He's fast
