This tournament will be larger in the future. The sponsor, Mid-America Festival is committed to making it better next year!
Mid America Festivals Corporation has included Armwrestling in the wide array of events held at Renaissance Festivals. After I had the privilege of introducing the event at their Renaissance Festival in Tampa, Florida last April they want to make it a 2-day event. The event on Saturday, Sept 26, 2007, Minnesota State Armwrestling Tournament will be by the USAA rules (straight wrist). To mix it up and add variety, this tournament held on Sunday, Sept 27, 2009 will be Power style. This tournament is Sanctioned by the National Power Armwrestling Association. Basically, the major difference is you start in a hook position, the other rules are same such as, squared shoulders, hand on peg at all times, no touching of hands with any part of body, etc... This is a great venue for armwrestling exposure, there is an expected attendance of more than 50,000 people for the weekend at this Renaissance Festival!
