Gotta admit....saw Alexey and his partner compete on their first run and I was pulling for him.
He and his 2 man event teammate were said to have the heaviest sled with those two sitting in it...Alexey weighed in as the largest man in the event at 254lbs....looked deisel.
They are sitting 5th place right now.

Upon returning to Sochi(his hometown), Alexei was welcomed as a hero. He was escorted home by 30 hard core bikers. He also made an announcement to the media that he was quitting the sport of bobsled. He stopped short of sharing his plans for the future. At 29, with his strength and explosive speed, he still might have bright future in whatever he decides to do.

Why didn't he compete in the 4-man event?? DIdn't he win silver in the 4-man last olympics?

He won Bronze in the 2-man event last weekend. But this weekend was the 4-man event, and he didn't participate although Russia had two teams participating! Neither team god any medal. According to wikipedia, in the 2006 Olympics he got silver in the 4-man, so it made me wonder why no 4-man this year.

Good question, Arturo. I'm wondering the same.
Hope he comes back to armwrestling. Maybe Neil can attract him with one of the armwars events. The release of Pulling John could do something too...
