i've been in armwrestling for 27 years and i know there are different organizations and i think its time for me to start one up myself we are going to try to run something different we are gonna have hotel packages where the entry fee goes up and you pay to pull the tournamnet and get a free night and we are going to try and have a nationals in 2011 we already have several hotels in gatlinburg tn and chattanooga tn wanting to have the national tournament and give away money plus we have the tennessee state at the fair and the tri-state every year just wondering what everyone will think about this i just feel like i need to have an organization myself just another one to add to the list we will keep the same rules as AAA but different weight classes it may not be as big as these other nationals but i've had quite a few good turnouts so why not try we call southeastern armwrestling association been working on it for 2 1/2 years hopefully it will be sucessful as possible

ok Ray I'm sure you don't give a $hit about my opinion since you don't answer my pm's and we have had are issues
I think its great that your starting an org especially since you are already holding tournaments. I think anyone who gets into promoting the sport deserves a pat on the back.
I think we have diffences in opinion as far as how it should be done but thats ok we are the small equivalent to USAA and AAA and again thats ok too
I love the idea for your new tournaments in tennessee but hate the idea of having yet another nationals. I'm sure other countrys already think we are idiots for having so many national champions in one year(which diminishes the worth of the title national champion)
I wish the USAA and AAA would rename their nationals and leave the term nationals to the USAF who are the only ones that can qualify you for worlds.
a tournament does not need a national title to draw attention, your tournament and these other two national tournaments would be just as big without the title look at the NEAC great turnouts and no national title, what about a SEAC does anyone own the rights to that, there are plenty of ways to get people there lets not further polute our national titles

I agree with David, we don't need to have 4 nationals, unless you are saying you want to hold the AAA nationals in Tennessee. The hotel being included in the entry fee is a cool idea.

I think it is a great idea, but i also think it should be a southeastern title not a national title. I think it should not only be held in TN but also be held in other southeastern states. Sounds like a good idea to me

That might count as having some rights to the name SEAC. Try coming up with something more original Ray. "Southeastern Armwrestling Association" sounds very familiar to something already in place. Originality would be HUGE from here on.

Anything to help the sport grow is good but, I saw in powerlifting many sanctions and nationals. Then it starts to discredit one another.I feel why call any event a national if you don't get to go on to the worlds.A title won when the best are not there really wouldn't mean much to me.

Pete, by the way, the SEAC in North Carolina featured pullers from 17 different states...yet none from neighboring Tennessee.

WE ARE NOT CALLING IT SEAC WE ARE CALLING IT SEAW it doesnt matter if we have a nationals or not we are going to have the organization and hold more tournaments Ray I mentioned SEAC as an alternative to having another nationals meaning a South East Armwrestling Championships not as an alternative to what you are calling your org. and I think you mean you are calling it SEAA which would stand for your South East Armwrestling Association. the above names I mentioned in my previous post were just ideas for a tournament name and not for the name of your org. just trying to help
