Minnesota Armsports presents the first annual Minnesota State Championships
Where: Hog Wild Saloon: 514 Main Street, Henderson, Minnesota, 56044
Time: Weigh-ins 5:00pm-6pm . Tournament starts at shortly after 6pm (as soon as brackets are completed).
Entry: $20 per arm - entry fee will be payed back to the top 3 - 50/30/20 so first place in open class gets 50% of the entry fee $ for that class, 2nd gets 30%, 3rd gets 20%. With 10 guys in a class, each paying $20, there's $200 total so the winner would receive $100 (50% of total), 2nd $60, 3rd $40
$10 per arm for the novice classes.
Weight classes:
Men's Open Right and Left: 0-154, 155-187, 188-220, 221+
Women's Open Right and Left: 0-143, 144+
NEW Men's Novice Right and Left: 0-187 lbs., 188+ lbs.
Baseball hats for the top 3 in the novice classes.
This tournament will be run on a USAA armwrestling table. Chalk and risers will be provided.
Rules: All elbow fouls will be called, a false start is a warning and 2 warnings equals a foul. 2 fouls is a loss. If competitors can't get a grip in 1 minute they will be set in a ref's grip. Any movement in a ref's grip is a foul. Hand off the hand peg is a warning, if a competitor takes their hand off the peg and gains position (by pushing on the table leg ect.) it will be a foul. Shoulders will be squared before the go. Competitors can't touch their arm with their shoulder or any other part of their body. Your shoulders cannot go past the center of the table.
Slipping with your hands opened, twisting your hand away to slip, or making a fist to slip out of your opponents hand is an intentional slip and will be a foul. A foul or a slip in a losing position is a loss. Losing position is referee's discrimination but if your arm is anywhere near the pad when you slip or foul it will be a loss - slippling of fouling at 10-2 o'clock is not a loss.
1 foot must stay on the ground, thumb knuckles must be visible before the go unless both competitors say they don't care about seeing the knuckles, wrist will be straight before the go.
If both competitors arms go straight down in the center of the table and the ref's aren't sure who's side of the table the hands are on when they drop below the pin line, whoever's arm/hand is on top will be declared the winner.
We will go over the rules before the start of the tournament, they're pretty basic rules.
