So, how does one get on the rankings anyway? I have won the 2010 Nationals 198 Right hand Open at Reno and Texas this year. Doesn’t the Nationals count for establishing rankings… regardless of who shows up? I haven’t seen the bottom 3 ranked pullers, (Ryan Clark, Steve Rau, and Joe Getz) pull an any big tournaments at all in 2010 and they certainly were not at the last 2 Nationals that I attended. So what is a puller supposed to do??? Thanks!

Steve Rau was at Blue Chips Casino in May and pulled 198, 242, and 243+, obviously it wasn't a nationals but there were over 100 entries and lots of good pullers, I would consider it a big tournament. Razor was also at the Arnold. That's a big one.

Eric good to see you on here. Congratulations on your recent titles as well. I agree Eric should be ranked with wins at Nationals over the likes of Herman McCoy and Randy Weaver. Also Tell Kurt you are a National Champion so your name reflects it.

unfortunately eric, I think that is the way it is. If they fall under active guidelines but haven't been to an event you were at.............it sucks for you since you are competing alot.
I feel I could crack the top 10 overall right handed but understand that I have to actually pin someone on that list to get the spot..........even though I did catch don and prove to be more than in the match.
As far as the overall left hand goes..........I did beat lattimere.

Too many good pullers from lighter weight classes, like you, Chaffee, Fritsche, have beaten me left hand.

Also------I don't belong on the rankings at all right hand. I get beat right all the time by all sorts of people......
The left hand spot I can agree with, at least in theory. I haven't pulled several of the people ranked lower than me, so its still a guessing game.

Sorry group I have been locked out of my account for a while, (new computer holding all of my passwords.... old email in my account etc.) I used to help Gord with the rankings when he first started them, it is never easy and you have to make rules around activity and weight classes because if you don't it is impossible to have any structure or consistency. Rankings are good for the sport... just look at people that are using them to fuel improvements and matches that may not otherwise take place. Back before these the sport was rampant with backyard legends that never traveled, never beat the top guys out there, all fueled by their local fan club and him dominating his neighbors. Are these perfect? Never, pick a sport with rankings and a ton more resources than armwrestling and tell me there are not debatable placements there. The debate on top of a mix of some solid basis for sub-setting the list down to active pullers with substantiatable performance is what makes it worthwhile and makes it good for the sport. For those that have varying opinions, great that is what this is for, a basic structure to inspire conversation, challenges and consistent progression documenting the sport. For those that feel they are not getting their due...sure there are arguments about "I beat this guy and he beat that guy, i won this event etc." but in the end it is pretty simple.... beat any guy ahead of you on the list and move up. That is an undeniable statement. Despite me beating Corey in Reno....Corey is on top now after doing an amazing job with Vazgen at the AAA event, great guy and I am very happy for him, having said that I am going to $hithammer him at Nationals and put myself on top where I belong.... Can't wait to see you there Corey...

Eric - Although Ryan and Joe haven't pulled much recently, they've pulled in the past 12 months with success (mostly in major events in late 2009). Until they reach 12 months of inactivity, they lose to someone who isn't ranked, or an unranked puller beats someone who is higher up on the rankings, they will remain ranked. I agree it can be frustrating when you are making an effort to hit major events. Setting up a supermatch with one of these pullers may be a way to go.
Shawn - Although your current rankings may not be perfect, I think you may be underestimating your current abilities. You seem to be making steady progress. Which superheavyweights (243+) have beaten you this year with the right? You did very well at the recent Chicagoland event and some pullers got knocked out of the rankings.
Justin - Harold pulled a few weeks at the Chicagoland event. A number of ranked superheavyweights were in attendance. Oleg has pulled a few events in the Pacific Northwest, including this year's Oregon states.

Hi Eric, just watched some video on Rick Soliwada and Roger Nowatski. Rick beat him pretty easy in the 154s and Roger is still ranked above Rick. I personally feel that it should be switched.

If the video is from the PA tournament this past May, I debated whether or not Rick should be moved ahead of Roger. Because Roger pulled multiple classes that day (Rick did not) and he had pulled a number of matches before pulling Rick, I didn't feel the rankings change was justified.

Eric
Please explain how you have Miller over Soliwada in the left 54. We all know Rick is the Best in N.A. in that class
